Chapter 6: An unsportsmanlike comment in the dressing room

Four days later in Memphis, Tennessee, the bus that had Abby, Stanley, Allison, Gianna, the moms and the girls was nearing the theater where Starbound would be held and the time was 12:00 PM and the bus drove past Beale Street, one of the most popular streets in Memphis as Abby and her son looked on.

"Remember when you were little, we'd walk down Beale Street?" Abby reminisced.

"Yes, i remember, those were some great times, mom." Stanley said. "When you first adopted Kalani at birth, we took her there whenever we'd get the chance to go to Memphis."

"We enjoyed it a lot." Stanley said, then he turned to his sister. "Kalani, remember Beale Street?"

"Yep and i'm looking at it now, it looks even better than i remember from when i was a baby." Kalani told him, then she looked over at Payton. "Do you think your mother can hold her tongue and not get you in trouble?"

"I hope so." Payton admitted.

Then a minute later, the bus arrived at the Cannon Center for the Parforming Arts, the vehicle pulled up to the entrance and everyone got off of the bus and the girls got their bags.

"Jill, are you nervous?" Kelly asked.

"Yeah, because i want Kendall to keep her spot, but i think Abby wants Payton to replace Kendall." Jill admitted.

"You never know, Abby and Stanley might only have her only filling in for Brooke until she decides to come back." Melissa said.

"But nobody knows how long that could be." Holly stated.

"We'll have to take it day by day." Christi added.

Mackenzie was decked out in costume that consisted of a hologram dot on printed silky unitard with attached mesh drap and tendrils.

Kendall was in a pink sequin mesh over flo-yellow spandex leotard with beige mesh inset with attached multi colored spandex car wash skirt, also there were green nylon/spandex trunks attacahed with flower and binding trim and on her head was a flower headpiece.

Chloe and Paige were in their costume for their duet and it was a spandex biketard with rainbow square sequin mesh sparkles, glitter ombre pouf with jewer center details the camisole neckline, narrow binding straps cross in back with an ombre tulle skirt that was attached to the drop waist with blue nylon/spandex trunks attached as well, it featured a peacock fishing line curly hem.

"Your costumes look colorful and cool." Stanley complimented.

"What he said." Christi agreed, then the stagehand knocked on the door and informed Kendall, Mackenzie, Chloe and Paige that their routines would be coming up.

"Next in our elite mini soloist division we have Mackenzie from the Abby Lee Dance Company with Sunrise!" Mackenzie hopped on to the stage and stood still, then the music to her solo started and the younger ziegler was doing her dance well and was nailing her tricks and her moves to the beat, then at the end, she skipped off stage.

"Yay, Kenz!" Melissa said.

"Coming up in our elite junior soloist division we have Kendall from the Abby Lee Dance Company with Polynesian Princess!" Kendall headed onstage to applause and she had a determined expression on her face to prove to Abby that she belongs in the Abby Lee Dance Company. And when her music began, Kendall was dancing like it was her last dance ever, she did her tricks very well and when the music ended, she left the stage.

"Go, Kendall!" Jill cheered.

"Kendall did those tricks very well, the tips that you, Stanley and Gianna gave her helped." Abby told Allison.
