Several weeks went by and the week before, Payton filled in for Brooke when she went to her eighth grade dance, the ALDC wound up losing that weekend and the only dance that placed was Kendall's solo and currently, the day was May 26 and on that day there was a competition at the Metropolis Performing Arts Centre in Arlington Heights, which meant that the ALDC arrived in their respective cars instead of riding a bus. For the dances, Maddie had a solo called I Feel For You, Chloe had a solo named Sense of Purpose and Kendall had one as well and that was named Paradise everyone except for Mackenzie as in the group dance named Many Birds of a Feather and the girls were running through their group dance as Abby, Stanley, Allison, Gianna and the moms watched.

"Girls, we want to see your standing back tuck." Abby informed the girls and Brooke went first and she did hers in flawless fashion, then after the other girls, except for Paige did theirs, Paige got up.

"Can i do mine?" Paige asked.

"Nope." Melissa simply stated.

"Paige, do not do it and that means no." Abby warned.

"But--"

"Paige, you heard my mom, no!" Stanley told her sternly. "Do you realize that cement is under the carpeting?!"

"Don't do it, Paigey." Chloe pleaded with her friend and twinnie not to do a standing back tuck.

"Please, just this once?" Paige asked.

"Ok, but don't say we didn't warn you." Abby said, crossing her arms as Allison and Stanley did the same thing, even though they were stern, they all cared about the girls and were just looking out for them.

"This is gonna be a disaster." Brooke lamented.

"It could be." Kelly agreed.

"Why do i have a feeling that this isn't gonna end well?" Holly predicted as everybody saw Paige stand still, set herself like she would for a back handspring and then she pushed off her toes, kept her head up, got to the top of her jump and landed on both of her feet, but there was a snapping sound as everyone cringed.

"Oh, no..." Nia groaned as Paige had a painful expression on her face, but she wasn't crying and Kelly went to pick uer up and sat her on a chair.

"I think it's my foot." Paige said, with pain in her voice.

"Paige, can you curl your toes for us?" Stanley asked as Paige tried to curl her toes, but she couldn't as Chloe pulled out an ice pack and put it on her foot.

"No." Paige answered.

"Paigey's right, something's wrong with her foot." Chloe said.

"It's obvious that she landed wrong on her ankle." Brooke added.

"Thanks for the theory, einstein." Allison told her. "Abby, i think she shouldn't be in the dance and you'll have to reblock it with Maddie, Mackenzie, Nia, Chloe, Brooke and Kendall.

"That sounds reasonable." Kalani stated.

"Miss Abby, i feel like a fool. Why didn't i listen to you, mom and everyone else?" Paige asked.

"Paige, i may not be happy that you did a standing back tuck when we were telling you not to do it, but you saw Brooke doing it and wanted to do it, so it's not your fault." Abby assured her.

"Yeah, if you want to do a standing back tuck, you can do it in the studio with mats." Kelly told her.

"Kelly, if it's ok with you, can i take Paige to the hospital to see what's wrong with her foot?" Stanley suggested.

"Yeah." Kelly agreed.

"I'll call you to let you know what the results." Abby said to her son.

"All right, come on, Paigey Mack." Stanley said as he lifted Paige gently and carried her out of the dressing room and headed outside of the theater, headed to the parking lot and approached his escalade, he put her in the rear seat to lay don on, then he got in the escalade and was in the driver's seat.

Five minutes later, they arrived at a hospital called the Northwest Community Hospital and Stanley carried Paige to the entrance, walked inside and went up to the receptionist, who is a female.

"Hi, can i help you?" The receptionist asked him nicely.

"Ma'am, my name is Stanley Miller and this is Paige Hyland, she's a dancer for my mother's studio, the Abby Lee Dance Company, we were at a competition today and she did a standing back tuck. She landed wrong and she said that she hurt her foot."

The receptionist told a doctor, then the doctor, who was a female instructed Stanley to carry Paige to the emergency room and they entered it and he gently laid her down on the examination doctor bed.

"Hello, Paige. I'll be your doctor today, my name is Dr. Shannon Beverly, so what brings you in today?" She asked.

"I did a standing back tuck and i landed wrong and i hurt my right foot and when i landed, there was a cracking sound coming from my right foot and i couldn't curl my toes." Paige answered.

"Do you mind if i take a look?" Dr. Beverly asked and as an answer, Paige nodded as to say that she didn't mind and the doctor gently felt Paige's right foot to see what was wrong and Stanley was there, then when Dr. Beverly felt some swelling, bruising on the side of her foot, which was pointing in the wrong direction and tenderness and Paige whimpered when the doctor felt the swelling and there was throbbing pain. "Let's see what the X-Rays say."

Dr. Beverly turned on the X-Ray Machine and put it over Paige's foot to see what was wrong, then the X-Ray showed that her bones were still aligned and that was somewhat encouraging news.

"Paige, from what we've found out with the X-Ray, you've got a stress fracture in your right foot and what that means that you do not require surgery and all you need to do is wear a boot on your right foot and do not put weight on your foot and since you're a dancer, you won't be able to dance for four to six weeks." The doctor explained.

Paige started crying over the fact that she would not be able to dance for four to six weeks and one of those weeks fell on the week of the ALDC recital, which would be held on June 23rd as Stanley hugged the distraught girl and the Doctor had a sad look on her face.

"It's not fair..." Paige cried.

"Paigey, it's gonna be ok. At least your foot will be better at Nationals." Stanley assured her.

"I let Miss Abby, my friends, my sister and my mom down today." Paige lamented.

"No, you didn't. You were intrigued when your older sister did her standing back tuck and you wanted to do it, so don't beat yourself up over it." Stanley said to Paige, then he felt his phone vibrate and that meant that someone was calling, he pulled out his phone and that Abby was calling. "Do you mind if i take this call?"

"No." Dr. Beverly said and she left as Stanley answered his phone. "Hey, mom."

"Hi, Stanley. Any update on Paige so i can inform Kelly?" Abby wondered.

"Well, here's the latest on Paige, she has a stress fracture in her right foot and she'll be out for six weeks and she'll have to wear a boot and that means she won't be dancing for four to six weeks, so we're down a dancer." Stanley informed her.

Abby sighed at hearing the news from Stanley. "Well, from what you told me, Paige won't be able to dance until it's two or three weeks prior to Nationals. Also, for the competition results, Maddie got 5th, Chloe got 3rd and Kendall got 2nd. The group routine didn't place at all."

"Ouch."

"Yep, ouch." Abby agreed.

"Mom, tell Kelly that i'll bring Paige to the Hyland household." Stanley informed her.

"Ok, love you, bye bye."

"I love you too, mom. bye." Stanley stated, then he hung up and later that night he took Paige back to the Hyland household in Naperville, then Brooke carried her little sister inside of the house and thene Stanley went home.
