Chapter 8

Akiza's Pov

His sister?

I didn't know he had a sister.

"Your sister?" Yusei said. "Jack, I had no idea you had--"

"Of course you didn't have an idea I had a sister." Jack snapped.

"Why didn't you tell us about her?" Yusei asked.

Jack frowned and said "I didn't tell anyone, not even Goodwin."

He paused and said "I didn't want anyone to know because, I didn't even know where she was. And plus it wasn't anyone's business."

"So you knew you had a sister and you didn't say anything?" Trudge said.

Jack frowned again and said "To be honest, I pretty much forgot about Crystal all these years."

I couldn't help but notice how sad and hurt Crystal looked. 

Yusei looked at Jack then at Crystal. 

"Well she's here now." He said.

He held out his hand to Crystal and he said "My name is Yusei."

She looked at his hand and then at him and hesitated. Then she took his hand and shook it. 

"And I'm Akiza. It's nice to meet you." I said and she shook my hand too.

I noticed her hand was a little rough but soft too. And I could sense strong physic vibes from her. Could she be a physic duelist? 

Luna stepped up with Leo and she said "I'm Luna and this here is my brother, Leo."

"And I'm Officer Trudge." Trudge said.

"I'm Mina." Mina said.

Crystal looked around at everyone and said nothing. She looked confused and frightened but her eyes held a hint of happiness. Like she had so many questions but she was scared of something. And that she was happy to be with her brother again.

"Let's go inside. We can talk there." Trudge said, breaking the silence. 

We all nodded and went inside the house. While Yusei was calming the children, we all stood around. Then Jack whispered something into Crystal's ear and she looked at him and nodded. They headed for an empty room upstairs and Yusei looked at them confused.

"Where are you taking her?" He asked.

Without even looking at him, Jack said "I'm going to talk to my sister in private, if you don't mind." 

Crystal's Pov

So.

I have a brother. 

Somehow I knew I had a brother. I just don't know why he never came to my mind while in that cell. 

Jack closed the door softly and I stared out the window. I knew he was looking at me because I saw him out of the corner of my eye. 

"Crystal." He said.

I shifted my gaze from the window a little and he said softly "Please look at me."

I finally looked at him and while he had a frown on, his eyes told me that he was so happy.

"All these years....where were you?" He said.

I sighed and I said "I was in complete darkness."

I paused and looked back out the window and I said "I was prisoner to the Dark Signers."

I don't know where it came from but I looked at him and said "Why didn't you look for me? Did you not want me?"

"How could you say that?!" He said. "Of course I wanted you."

"I felt so guilty for not coming to get you. I had to pretend that you didn't exist so it wouldn't hurt so much." He said.

He had to what?!

"You forgot about me." I said, tears streaming down my face.

Here I was. With my brother who rather forget his sister than remember her and try to get her back. A brother who rather let his sister be all alone in the darkness at the mercy of the Dark Signer's torture.

"You didn't look for me. You rather I had stayed in that cell and suffered while you lived your life." I said.

"Crystal, That's not true." He said.

I looked at him with an angry expression and I said "Then explain this to me. Why does my brother not want me? Why would he go and forget about me and pretend I never existed? And why would he not even look for me?"

"Why would my brother do those things?! Tell me!" I said.

He was silent and then he said "I do want you! I missed you so much. A part of me died when you went away! I had to find a way to survive."

"That's right. Let your sister suffer in pain while you survive and move on with your life." I said.

"Crystal, will you listen to me?!" He said raising his voice. 

I narrowed my eyes and I said "No. I heard what I needed to know."

I then stormed right past him and I opened the door and I slammed it shut behind me. Everyone looked at me as I stormed down the stairs and right past them and out the door. 

"Crystal! Wait!" I heard Jack call.

I ignored him and I heard him, Yusei, and that girl with red hair and the little girl groan and grab their arms. I stopped and I stood in the doorway. I spun around and I saw them grasping their arms. 

Then through tighten expressions, they looked behind me with eyes of pain and shock.

I turned around and I gasped and my breath shortened. 

Staring right down at me was a red and yellow dragon. 

The ground rumbled and I stumbled back the rest of the way out of the house and into the open.

I looked up as the dragon came straight at me, it's jaws opened wide.

"Crystal!" Jack called.

Then the dragon hit me.
