Nova's POV
Weeks went by. Adam and I are still going strong, but Luxe is still against the relationship. In three days, it will have been one full month since we've been going out and Luxe knows what that means. Time to talk to Ash.
"You really need to stop calling him 'honey'. That nickname is probably the worst one ever. Do you know what makes honey? Bees. And what do bees to? They sting you with these needle things on their butts. So you're basically saying he's a pain in the ass. See?" Luxe grabbed her lunch tray and threw it out, trying to show me the logic in her opinion.
I rolled my eyes, and we headed to art class. "Would you rather me call him 'baby'?" I teased.
"No. Babies are also annoying. They're always crying, for no good reason. Oh and speaking about babies. None for you and my brother. No way. There cannot be little Adams running around everything." Luxe and I rounded the corner and headed inside.
We are painting our ceramic pieces today, and I'm really excited. Today is the day that Luxe tentatively agreed to talk to Ash.
We drop our bags off and carefully take our pieces from the storage room. Luxe's had lots of intricate detail work because she wanted to practice cutting small designs that need a steady hand for tattoos. I have to say, I'd let her give me one.
She was nearly done, and Ash was struggling a little bit. His was lumpy, and had very basic techniques. I kind of felt bad.
"Go help him out." I nudged Luxe and she jumped back a little.
I saw her eyes wander over to where he was sitting, and she straightened. Taking a deep breath, she got up and walked over to him very slowly.
"I'll help you with your project if you help me with my tattoo designs." She muttered quietly. Ash looked up, said nothing, but nodded.
Luxe gave me a quick thumbs up, and sat down on a stool next to him. I was already glazing my project and he hadn't even baked his so I slowed down to hear and see what they were doing.
She showed him a few more advanced skills, and he watched her closely. He would copy what she demonstrated, and soon enough he was back on track for the project due date.
I could barely hear when they were saying, but I knew I would hear all about it later.
Once the bell decided to ring, I hung back a little bit to catch up with Luxe. I slowly tucked away my clay-stained apron as Luxe approached me.
"Oh my goodness. That was amazing." She beamed.
"Yeah? Did he help you with you tattoo designs?" I wrapped my project in plastic and tucked it away.
"He said that if I help him with the rest, he would do a small tattoo on me for free. Can you believe it?" Luxe grabbed my shoulders and my jaw dropped open.
"Your parents and your brother will kill you. How can you keep this past them? They noticed the hair, and they will most definitely see the tattoo. Don't you also know that you're underage? You're still fifteen." I warned.
"I have my ways. And I want you to be there when I get it for moral support. Then, years from now, you and Ash as my future husband will have a good laugh about it." Luxe and I grabbed our backpacks and prepared to head separate ways for the next class.
"Fine. But I better not hear you call him 'honey' or 'baby'. If I do, count me out." And with that, I headed to science, hearing Luxe's cackling laughter behind me.
