Nova's POV
"Hi, I'm Kimberly. Adam has told me so much about you." She stuck out her hand for Luxe's mom to shake.
But she didn't take her hand. "And why are you here?"
Kim smiled. "I'm Adam's girlfriend."
"It's so interesting that Adam hasn't mentioned you to anyone in the family over the phone." Luxe's mom glared at Kimberly's hand until she awkwardly put it down.
"That's probably because we've only just started dating last week. But things are going so well, aren't they pookie?" Kimberly tugged on Adam's arm and he nodded, his eyes focused elsewhere.
I turned around to see Luxe laughing hysterically at this scene while eating brownies.
"Pookie? Oh, this is rich. Not richer than these brownies, though. Yum." She took another bite and kicked her feet up onto the sofa.I rushed over to her. "Can you believe this? He has a girlfriend? How?"
Luxe chuckled. "I'm asking myself the same question. But hey, they deserve each other. Two superficial, incredibly obnoxious people. I never thought he would meet someone who is as annoying as he is, but I think Kimberly is just that special someone. Good for them... I don't suppose you still want me to save these brownies for him?"
I shook my head.
"Good. Because you and I both know that I wasn't going to save any." Luxe laughed again.
The rest of the party ended up being about Kimberly and asking her questions about her new relationship with Adam. Adam even asked her to sleep over.
"I'm not too sure about that, Adam... We can have the guest bed prepared if you'd like." Luxe's mom clearly didn't want her staying in his room.
Kimberly decided to speak for Adam. "Well, Julianne, your son is an adult so I think he can technically do whatever he wants with whoever he wants." She put her hand on Adam's knee protectively.
Mrs Kerosene couldn't have seemed more angry. "Mrs Kerosene. To you, I am Mrs Kerosene."
Dinner was awkward, and I left right after. As I took my stuff and headed out, Luxe sent me a text.
L: If it really means that much to you, I'll help you take that girl down.
