ALEXI
I woke up in the same bed I was in yesterday. For a change I actually slept like a baby. Waking up wasn't the same though, there weren't two sexy twin brothers standing by my bed. Nope, I was completely alone in the bedroom. I sat up, throwing the sheets from my body. I was still in the same clothes as yesterday. It was sticking to my skin because of the sweat.
I remembered what woke me. It wasn't a nightmare after all, but a scary reality. The was a soft knock on the door a second before it was pushed open. Mr. Tyson stood there with his eyes searching around the room, before falling on me.
"You're awake.
I nodded, “I had a bad dream.”
"Want to talk about it?" He asked me softly.
My eyes trailed over him, taking in his black slacks and white dress shirt. His tie hung loosely around his neck. He was clean shaven with his hair neatly combed back. Just like the first time I met him.
"Sweetheart?"
Snapping back to reality, I looked up at him blushing when I saw his smirk.
"N-no," I whispered, looking away from him.
Nodding he entered the room. Mr Tyson walked over to the edge of the bed. He bend down picking up my bag. Setting my bag down on the bed, he gave me a small smile.
"Here, you can take a shower then meet us downstairs for breakfast," He said, turning to walk to the door. Before he opened it, he turned to face me. "Don't worry about dressing appropriately, just dress in something comfortable."
Giving me a small smile he walked out closing the door behind him. I groan fell from my lips as I dropped back onto the bed. This was beyond embarrassing! I needed to get out of here as soon as possible. I'll live in my fucking car until I find a job if I had to. There was no way I would leech off of them.
* * * *
Walking down the stairs with shaky legs, I tried to keep my breathing even. I was fucking nervous for some reason. I mean spending the night here after failing to get him those files. I was pretty sure it was because of the file that I didn't get the job. I could totally be professional if I had to be. Taking the last step, I listened to the chatter coming from the kitchen. It instantly died down.
"Alexi?" Someone called.
I wanted to cry all over again. I was not ready to face them after all that had happened yesterday. My eyes darted to the front door as I debated on just running out, but then I remembered the gates.
Someone stepped out from the kitchen drawing my attention. Fury leaned on the doorway crossing his arms over his chest. He raised a perfectly groomed eyebrow at me. It then that I realized that he wasn't wearing the dark sunglasses. The colour of his eyes left me completely speechless. It wasn't the same colour as his brother, it was lighter. I rare shade of green.
"I made you some breakfast," he said, breaking me from my shocked state.
"I-" I didn't feel like eating. I had too much on my mind, and I definitely wasn't ready to face Mr Tyson again.
"No excuses," his voice came from the kitchen.
Chuckling under his breath Fury stepped forward taking hold of my hand. A gasp fell from my lips. His skin was freezing cold. I looked up at him only to find him watching me intently.
"I was pouring juice.”
With that he led me into the kitchen. The kitchen was big with with and black tiles against the walls. The counters were dark grey marble, a stainless steel double door fridge was against one wall between two counters. To the left of the kitchen was the sink with a big window above it, looking out into the back yard. Next to the sink was a black stove and to the right stood cabinets and more counters with sliding doors leading out onto a patio. In the middle of the kitchen stood an island with black bar stools around it. My eyes fell on the three plates filled with bacon, scrambled eggs and some toasts.
Mr Tyson was sitting at one of the plates his eyes with his eyes focused on us. I was led over to a chair across from him. Sitting down, I looked at the plate in front of me.
"Eat Alexi you didn't have dinner last night," Mr Tyson said, making me look up at him.
Frowning I looked down at my plate again. My stomach grumbled, a reminder that I was indeed hungry. I patted my stomach, fucking trader. Picking up the fork I glanced up at them. Fury sat down next to me causing his arm to brush against mine.
"Mr Tyson," I started, looking at him.
"Slade," he said softly, before taking a bite of his bacon.
My eyes fell on his lips as he licked it, my body started to heat up. His lips looked so soft, so kissable. What will it feel like pressed against mine?
"Eat sweetheart," he said. I looked down to hide the blue on my cheeks.
I ate silently waiting for him to bring up last night, but he never did. When my plate was empty, he took it along with his placing it in the sink. I watched as he pulled on his suit jacket before grabbing the car keys and a briefcase. I stood my eyes landing on Fury, he gave me an encouraging smile and a wink. What was I suppose to do now?
I followed Slade into the hall to the front door, he opened the door waiting for me to step out. My feet was glued to the tiled floor.
“Mr Tyson-”
“Slade.”
“Uu...Slade, where are we going?” I asked him, nervously.
His lips twitched, “To the shop.”
“For what?”
“Because,” he breath out, “I'm taking you shopping for proper clothes.” I opened my mouth ready to argue with him. “Don't.”
He turned to face me fully. His jaw was clenched and the grip he hand on the briefcase tightened. “I know you have pride Miss White, and that it might get damaged by an act of kindness. You may think of me as a heartless bastard, but I assure you, I'm not. Your sister kicked you out and from what I could tell, you only have a few pieces of clothing. And yes, I told you that you didn't get the job, but I'm sure we could work something out. Until then, you are going to come with me silently. I lost some business because of you yesterday, I don't want to lose anymore.”
Well, that certainly left me speechless. I guess a part of what he said was spot on. I didn't want him to ruin the little pride I had left. Accepting what he offered would be like admitting defeat after just starting a challenge. If he wanted to buy me clothes, I would accept it, but I would pay him back. Without saying a word, I stepped out of the house. Two cars were parked in front of the house, one being the car I drove yesterday and the other an unknown car.
I followed him down the steps towards the car I had borrowed. He opened the door for me before dropping the suitcase in the backseat. He slid behind the wheel without a word or glance at me. The car started moving forward and down the lane. We waited for the gates to open before he turned right onto the road.
“Don't argue with me about this.”
“I won't,” I muttered. I won't argue with him out loud, but he should know that arguing with him in my head was another story.
"Good." Was the only thing he said.
