ALEXI
We arrived at the castle half an hour later. Because of the people that had gathered to watch us, it took us longer to get there. As soon as we stepped into the castle we were hit with bustling activity.
"They are preparing the ballroom," Fury muttered from behind me. "Come."
Taking my hand, he led me through the bustling people down a hall. We turned a few more times before stopping at a double oak door. He pushed it open then led me inside up half a hundred stairs. At the top Fury pushed open another door. I sucked much needed breath before finally looking up.
"Oh."
We stood on the roof of one of the towers. I could see the shops and houses from the town. Trees stretched for miles and miles into the distance on one wide of the castle and behind the town. A strong gust of wind blew around us making me shiver.
"When I need some space I come up here. No one ever comes here anymore."
I turned around to face him. He was leaning against the wall with his arms crossed over his broad chest. His peculiar eyes watched me with some unknown emotion. I turned around again which was probably not the best thing to do. My stomach turned and the colour drained from my face. His panicked cry filled my ears second before it started ringing. I swayed.
"Lexi." Fury cupped my cheek to force my eyes up to his.
"I'm afraid of heights," I managed to whisper.
"Shit. I'm sorry princess," he said softly.
He hooked his arm beneath my legs and the other around my back. I gripped his shoulders as he stood. The world tilted dangerously making me whimper. Burying my face in his neck, I held on tightly as he started moving. I thought he was taking us back inside, but he wasn't. Fury surprised me when he lowered me onto a thick blanket. With wide eyes I stared. We were in what seemed like a room build on one side of the tower. The walls were made out of glass which gave us a view of everything around us. In the middle- where I sat- was a large thick black laid open on the floor. Pillows were placed neatly around us. Small fairy lights hung from the roof.
"It's beautiful," I whispered.
He gave me a small smile before sitting down next to me. Reaching out, he stroked my cheek with his knuckles. I leaned into his touch.
"I'm sorry you have to go through all this," he said. "I know that this is hard for you but I want you to know how happy it makes us to have you by our side."
"You don't have to apologize." I sat up on my knees to move closer to him. "As long as you're with me, I'm happy."
Fury leaned forward to close the distance between us. His lips barely brushed mine as he kissed me. With a whimper, I threw my arms around his neck and pressed my lips harder against his. He gripped my hips then pulled me onto his lap. My hands buried in his hair, tugging as his lips started to trail down my neck.
My heartbeat increased as heat pooled between my legs. I was hit by a sudden wave of arousal. Fury's body tensed beneath mine. I watched as his eyes darkened.
"I can smell you," he growled, his voice deep and slightly husky.
Oh. I shivered. He squeezed his eyes shut as he sucked in a deep breath. Placing my hand beneath the jacket, I slowly pushed it off his shoulders. It dropped onto the blanket silently. Fury slowly opened his eyes to stare at me. He reached up to move the hair away from my neck.
"Fury," I whispered.
Without saying a word, he leaned down the press a kiss beneath my ear. A shudder raced through me when I felt his fangs scrapping my skin.
