Author's Note: Hello, readers. I'm back with another dose of "Shock" for you. Get it? Okay, bad joke. Forget that I said that. Either way, happy reading!
You know that feeling of when you have some sort of secret, or you have some type of feelings, but you decide not to talk to anyone else about them? Which is naturally what you do if you have a secret. For some people, if they kept on pushing them down to the depths of their souls, then it would eventually get to a point where that secret or those feelings would never resurface, the host would be okay, and life goes for everyone. Those type of people are the lucky ones, in Levi's opinion. Because for the other type of people who hold these big secrets and/or feelings, they try to push the feelings down and go on with their lives, only for the secret or feelings to keep eating at their soul, tormenting their minds, spirit, and in rare and possibly dangerous cases, the body. Levi Heichou was one of those types of people, and though his body is still fine, his spirit and mind had a venom of painful memories and remembrances coursing through him. How it ends for those types of people is always a case of a variety of differences, for people always react to it in different ways. Levi didn't know what the end to this would be. No one would, until it came.
What was the secret, and what were the feelings (yes, he had both of those things), you ask? You honestly should know this, but in case you haven't been paying attention throughout the chapters, I'll just summarize it up for you. It all comes down to one word: Petra.
Levi had loved everything about her; Her kind heart, her cheerful outcome on things, her courageous soul, and everything about her, in general. The secret were the feelings themselves (there were sometimes cases where the feelings were the secret), but when his happy thoughts and memories of her would enter his brain, they would soon fade away and succumb to dark memories and feelings, like when he found her body, how he could never tell her he loved her, when he threw her body out of the cart to distract the oncoming Titan. Oh, God!!! That moment!! Why did he throw her body away!!?? And if only he knew what was going to come next: that meeting with her father.
Flashback
"Anyway, as her father, I think it's still too early for her to marry. She's still so young, with so much left to experience."
The rageful comments and the anger of the other civilians had droned out of Levi Heichou's brain. He could only think of the words Petra's father had just told him, and of Petra herself. Just when pain couldn't slap him across the face more than it did, it... well, you know. He couldn't take it anymore.
"Mr. Ral, I'm so sorry," Levi didn't feel those damn "I'm sorry" words were genuine enough, yet he said them anyway, "but Petra was killed during the expedition,"
Silence. It was what he was expecting. He was expecting the oncoming rage of sadness that would come from Petra's father after the silence. He would cry, then scream that he never should have let Petra join such a suicidal group. But he didn't.
"What? N-n-no, this can't be- this can't be true. She can't be gone! " Petra's father stuttered before looking Levi in the eye. Rivers were pouring out of his eyes, streaking his face, "Please."
"I-I-" Levi's tongue was glued to his mouth.
"Let me see her!" Mr. Ral cried out suddenly, "I won't care if her body is all broken and bloodied and if her limbs were eaten off or something. Let me see my precious baby girl!!"
"Sir, a Titan was chasing the chariots. We were in a field, so we couldn't kill it with 3DM gear. We had to throw off some of the dead bodies to distract it-" Levi immediately regretted saying that, but Mr. Ral had to know the truth, yet before he could say anything else, Mr. Ral cut him off.
