A/N: Sorry for the cliffhanger. May your angst be gone with this chapter!

"SHIT!! SHIT!!" Levi had hastily slapped his jacket onto Petra's shoulder, which was still bleeding. However, the amount had lessened since Levi attempted to stop the flow. But that didn't exactly neutralize anything. Petra's breathing had gotten shallow, her eyes were starting to get a little glassy, and she was shivering.

"H-Heichou...." her words were like that of a sloth's movements; and slow and a tad slurred.

"Sssshhh," he hushed her, pressing firmly against the wound, "Don't speak. Save your strength."

"PETRA!!!" From behind, Gunther, Eld, and Auruo had flown up behind the two. Hastily inspecting their comrade, Eld checked for a pulse while Gunther reached for the emergency first-aid kit he was supplied with. I guess you could say Levi panicked too hard to get his. Auruo just stood there, his face almost apathetic. It was more than enough to ignite a bowl of hot oil within Levi.

"What are you doing?" Levi snapped, his teeth gritted, "This is no time to copy me, Auruo. We need to get Petra somewhere safe!"

"There's no time," Auruo replied, simply shrugging his shoulders, "We have a battle to win."

"Are you suggesting we leave her behind?" Eld asked, his eyebrows furrowed and angry.

"All I'm saying is that we don't have time," Auruo retorted apathetically, "If we need to lose one, at least it will save millions. Now let's go. I'm tired of standing here and do-"

"You're just a selfish, cold, greedy little b***ard whose letting his grudge against his ex get the better of him!!" Levi shouted, not checking his words mentally.

Aura just stood there, an expression of feeling finally slapped on his face. His mouth was in a perfect O, his eyes had widened a good amount, his eyebrows were raised, and he staggered back. He looked as if Levi had stabbed him right in the chest. It wasn't long before another expression took place. His eyes were slanted, eyebrows were furrowed, his nose was scrunched, and his teeth were gritted. Still, Levi still kept his blank expression.

"I just want to get these goddamn Marleyans OFF our island," Auruo snapped, "Perhaps its' you who has some grudge against me. Perhaps you are just jealous that I got Petra first, and you couldn't help but steal her away from me."

Eld and Gunther gasped, but Levi and Auruo stood tall and proud.

"Auruo, do you have any idea how much trouble you're in!" Gunther hissed, but no one paid attention.

Levi raised his eyebrows and opened his mouth to speak, but he couldn't bring himself to do it. So Auruo spoke for himself.

"I've seen the way you look at her," Auruo snapped once again, "And I know you two must have been doing something that day in the piano room. I may not have seen it first-hand, but I sure as hell sensed it."

That was when Levi's mind went black. It was as if the world had shut out the light of the sun. As if the rays had entered the atmosphere, but the molecules within had turned it down, even though that wasn't exactly how light radiation through space... worked. All Levi could remember was how his fist became bloody, and Auruo was on the ground screaming, clutching the blood geyser that was his nose. Gunther and Eld remained behind, terrified s**tless of their superior.

"H-Heichou," Eld stuttered, but the former didn't pay attention. He just grabbed Petra's writhing body and flew off. Nothing mattered at that moment. Logic, strategy, nothing. Just her.

Levi made sure to hold her tight, but not so hard. He also tucked her body in a little as he dodged bullets. He didn't stop flying through until he saw his destination. The alley where they originally were, where he knew where that trapdoor was. He flew down to the ground and basically barged into the hidden room underneath. However, unlike most of the hideouts scattered across Shiganshina, this one had been a long, narrow tunnel with torches lining the walls.

Putting his memories aside, Levi sprinted through the tunnel. He held Petra so that she wouldn't bleed, but he made sure that she didn't hit her head either. Finally, after what seemed to be a marathon, Levi had reached his destination. A tall, oak door that had a red cross painted on it came into view, where Levi speed-walked to as if time had been dripping with fragility. He hosted Petra upon his forearm and banged on the door with a clenched fist. After a minute or two, a little slit had finally opened up, where a pair of owl-like eyes had peered into Levi's navy-blue ones. However, this didn't scare Levi. Not when there was a chance that he could lose his lover once again. He just stood tall and glared back at the owl-eyes.

"Once you have it, you want to share it. Once you share it, you don't have it. What is it?" Owl-Eyes asked.

"A secret," Levi simply replied. He has been through this procedure many times before. The slit in the door closed up, upon which the full door creaked open. Owl-eyes soon became the sophisticated, yet seemingly tired soul of Dr. Ulrich Morgen. After Dr. Yeager's death, Morgen had taken his place as Shiganshina's medical practitioner. However, unlike Doctor Yeager, Morgen had been given a small hospital where refugees could flee to during attacks. Yet, he never needed it until now.

"Levi Heichou, it is an hon-"

"No time, Doctor!" Levi shouted as he bolted into the little clinic, Dr. Morgen running alongside him. It had been cramped with injured, dying, or dead refugees, and their living, grieving, praying relatives. Levi stopped at the sight of a sobbing mother as she clutched her mutilated and bloody child in her arms. He practically jumped when a man (perhaps the father) had thrown himself upon Dr. Morgen's feet. The man, who was blonde, tall, and disheveled, racked with sobs and pleads.

"I beg of you, Doctor," the man cried, "Please. What you say cannot be true!! Please just examine our son for some time longer. I will pay you back-"

"I cannot," Dr. Morgen sighed sadly, much to Levi's shock.

"Please, Doctor," the man cried louder, "He's only five!! My son-"

"Look," Dr. Morgen sighed, "I am truly sorry to say this, but there is nothing more I can do. The child is long-dead. Now I beg of you, allow to attend to those who still have a chance."

Dr. Morgen practically dragged Levi out of the oncoming the scene. The mother of the dead boy began to wail, clutching her heart as if it were giving out.

Levi practically shoved his writhing lover into the arms of the doctor, who almost jumped at the sight of the blood upon her shoulder."PLEASE!!" Levi shouted.

Dr. Morgen began to inspect the wound, upon which he cringed.

"Is something wrong?" Levi asked, desperate to keep the worry out of his voice.

"The wound has been infected, and she's lost a lot of blood," Morgen sighed once again, "But I may be able to save her. I will have to perform a minor surgery to remove the fragments of bone. Then I will have to clean it-"

"DO WHATEVER YOU CAN!!" Levi bellowed, but it wasn't loud enough for the entire room to hear.

"I will," Dr. Morgen replied as he ran into the emergency room with Petra in her arms.

Levi stormed around for a bit before sitting at a bench located in the corner. For a moment, he just sat there, unknowing and afraid. But then, he closed his eyes and clenched his fists. He knew what he had to do. Levi ran across the room and bolted out the door, not even closing it. He ran and ran, even after his feet began to ache. Once he saw the ladder that lead to the trap door, he climbed the latter with the ferocity of a panther.

Once Levi reached the surface, he ran out of the shadows, connected his Maneuvering wire with the wall of some building, and flew.

Petra, I will come back for you. But now, I must complete my duties as a soldier.

Author's Note:

Sorry. I had some major writer's block. And I'm also working on my own original story. But don't worry! I won't stop updating.
