For lunch me and Ben both had got a grilled cheese and fries. We took our usual seats at the table in the corner. I was getting ready to dig in when Ben stopped me.

"What was that back there?" He said, taking a bite of his grilled cheese.

"What was what?" I feigned innocence.

Ben gave me a look. "You know what I'm talking about. Why was Axel West giving you the sexy eyes?"

"First of all he wasn't, and second, sexy eyes, really?"

"You know, the 'come over here and let's do anything but talk' eyes." He stated like it was common knowledge.

"Whatever." I rolled my eyes at him and went back to my lunch.

Suddenly Ben reached over and grabbed one of my fries.

"Hey!" I slapped his hand away. "You have your own fries."

"But I ate them all!" He whined.

It's was true: there wasn't a single crumb left on his tray.

"Too bad."

With lightning quick reflexes, he stole another fry and popped it into his mouth.

"Jerk."

"Awww. You know you love me, Becca." He smirked.

"That might change if you keep stealing my food."

He just rolled his eyes and ate another fry.

"Just take them!" I yelled, pushing my tray towards him.

"I love you!" His eyes lit up, and he stuffed three fries in his mouth.

I scrunched up my nose in disgust. I swear all boys eat like pigs- at least the guys in my life do.

While hungry, hungry hippo kept stuffing his face with my food, I noticed a red headed girl by the water machine watching him with a smile on her face.

"That girl is totally checking you out over there." I motioned to her with my eyes.

He turned his head to look at her; when their eyes met, she blushed and quickly looked away. Ben looked back at me without a hint of emotion on his face.

"Well...?"

"Well what?" He asked.

"Go talk to her, idiot! She clearly thinks you're cute." I lightly slapped his shoulder.

He scrunched his face up all weirdly, and I had to hold in a laugh. "No she doesn't."

"Uh, yeah she does! Why wouldn't she? I have a very handsome best friend." I reassured him.

"You really think I'm handsome?" He asked, something in his voice seemed off.

I studied him for a moment. He had soft brown hair, hazel eyes, and a dimple in his left cheek when he smiled. He has the whole put together yet laid back look to him. Maybe if we weren't best friends I would date him, but that is too weird to think about! Ben's like my brother.

"Yeah. I mean not when you cram your face full of food, but most of the time you look handsome." I teased.

"Thanks." He smiled, causing his dimple to appear- and I could've swore I saw the tips of his ears turned pink.
