I woke up with a small smile on my face and dreams of motorcycles and freedom playing in my head. I got out of bed and started to get ready for another day at school. But today won't be just 'another day at school'; Axel and I will be parading around school as a couple.

It's still really weird to think about. Me and Axel as a couple could not possible work in any universe known to man (or the ones unknown to man either for that matter). Maybe it won't be that hard to believe considering my new lifestyle change, but still, I was anxious about how all of this would work out. I mean I could barely stand the guy, except on the rare few occasions where he actually seemed like a descent human being.

As I was getting dressed in my (new) usual look, I thought back to yesterday after me and Axel fled Burger King. I gave him directions to my house, so he could drop me off.

He drove through the iron gates to pull up to the driveway of my house. He killed the engine, and I let him go and hopped off of the motorcycle. Even though we were miles away from Burger King, my heart was still pounding.

I can't believe I just did that, I thought.

I felt drunk off of adrenaline: my thoughts were incoherent, my heart felt like a bass drum, and my legs were slightly shaky. I felt light, free. And I couldn't keep the smile off of my face.

"That was..." I couldn't put my feelings into words.

"Exhilarating." Axel grinned back at me.

He looked like he was feeling the same as me; his hair was disheveled, his eyes glowed, his whole presence in general seemed to radiate with energy.

"Does it always feel like this? Like a huge rush?"

"Does what feel like a huge rush?"

"Doing something you know you shouldn't do."

"Pretty much, yeah." He laughed.

I laughed, too. I was so busy laughing and reveling in my buzz, I didn't notice that Axel was slowly getting closer to me.

"What are you doing?" I said with a confused laugh.

"Something I probably shouldn't do." He whispered seriously.

He caressed my face, and I immediately stopped laughing. I was stunned looking up into his soft blue eyes. He glanced at my lips and then back at my eyes. He started to lean in. But before he could get too close, I placed a hand on his chest to stop him.

"You're right, you probably shouldn't."

He dropped his hand, wearing a rueful smile. "A guy can try."

"Goodbye, Axel." I smiled.

"See ya tomorrow, Angel Eyes."

And he got back on his motorcycle and drove away.

I put my heels on, grabbed my bag, and walked downstairs for breakfast. My parents were still gone on a business trip to New York, so it was just me, Christin, and Tyler. Christin and Tyler were both sitting at the table eating omelets.

I hadn't really had an appetite lately, so I just grabbed a banana and sat down. I studiously avoided Tyler's gaze.

  "Good morning, Christin."
