I went for a walk today. Just up and about. Then I sat in the park listening to music from a nearby ice cream truck. Then they played my dad's favorite song: Stand by me by Ben E. King. And it hit me right in the heart and I started crying. I cried because I was happy. When I listened to that song for the first time in a long time I felt peace inside my heart. I felt like daddy was still alive. He was seating next to me on the park bench. He was walking with me home. He was watching me. And he loves me. He never stopped.

Dear Dad,

When the night has come
And the land is dark
And the moon is the only light we'll see
No I won't be afraid
I won't be afraid
Just as long as you stand by me
If the sky we look up
Should tumble and fall
Or the mountains
Should crumble to the sea
I won't cry I won't cry
No I won't shed a tear.

I won't cry no more Dad. I won't cry. I won't be sad anymore. I'll be happy. I will. I'll be happy Dad.
