Chapter Three

Lucian

"You're so beautiful," I smiled at her. I beamed when the corners of her lips lifted to a half smile as she sipped her morning coffee. It had been two weeks since Fae arrived and my pack loved her. She was kind and reserved, open to play with the pack pups whenever they asked. She didn't let her blindness get in the way of her enjoying her time here.

We sat in the living room by the window, her favorite spot. She loved feeling the sun's warmth against her face even though she couldn't see the sun itself. How could someone as innocent as this woman face the horrors that she has? I was determined that she was going to live out the rest of her days in comfort and happiness. I kissed her cheek and she patted mine, sipping her coffee again. I was about to pull away when her hand went to the back of my neck, a gentle request for me to stay still, and I did. She set down her coffee and turned to me, taking in a deep breath.

She lifted her hands and began feeling my neck and jaw. She made her way up to my face and smiled, going over it. It was like she was tracing me so she would know my face by heart. She went across my stubble and to my lips, tracing them with her fingertips. I smiled and kissed them, my heart swelling when she giggled. It was like the sweetest music to my ears, hearing her. She ran her fingers through my hair and down my shoulder blades up to my shoulders and chest. Her eyes widened when she noticed how fit I was. I was suddenly glad for all those hours of training my dad made me do when I was younger. I subconsciously flexed my muscles under her soft touch, wanting her to be impressed by me. She went back up to my chest, laying both hands on my heart and frowned.

"So sad," she whispered. Before I could ask what she meant she turned, grabbed her coffee, and left. So sad? I wasn't sad...I was very happy! I didn't-couldn't understand why she would say that at all. I was ecstatic that she was here and that I was able to find her. After all these years of searching, my Mate was finally here with me. I was the complete opposite of sad! I sighed and walked to my office, closing the door. She spoke in riddles sometimes and, even though we sleep in separate rooms, I can hear her soft whimpers in the night. The past few weeks she's been here were absolute heaven compared to what life used to be like before. It was time to open up more and push our relationship for a more serious one. Was I being impatient? I groaned and sat at my desk, opening my computer. I smiled at the picture a pack member had taken of Fae and me. I had my arm around her shoulders and was kissing her cheek while she smiled bright. It was the only picture I had and I'm pretty sure she has no idea that it was taken.

She was beautiful without even knowing it, which just happened to make her even more attractive. She wasn't one of those snobby she-wolves that knew their good looks could get them anywhere. Fae had never seen herself so she has no idea how gorgeous she really is! Her being blind was both a blessing and a curse. I had never met a more selfless person other than my mother. A knock at the door jolted me out of my thoughts.

"Come in," I called. I almost cringed when my sister, Noelle, walked through the door.

"Mother said you found your Mate," she smirked. "I wanted to see for myself, but it looks like she isn't here."

My sister was one of those snobby she-wolves unfortunately. She was named after our great-great grandmother, Noelle, who was the exact opposite of a total b*tch that was my sister. "You're right, she isn't. She gets bored in here when I work so I imagine that she's either conversing with pack members or playing with the pups." Noelle came around to my desk and looked at the picture of Fae in my arms.

"This is her?"

"Yes." She seemed stunned.

"She's pretty..."

"The best part is that she doesn't know it."

"What do you mean?"  Before I could say anything, yet another knock sounded at the door.

"Come in," I sighed, pinching the bridge of my nose. I looked up and smiled when Fae's petite form slid from behind the door. "Fae, baby, is everything okay?" She nodded. I stood, walking over to her, and wrapped my arm around her thin waist, thankfully she didn't refuse. "Honey, this is my sister, Noelle."

"Hi," Noelle smiled.

"Hello," Fae whispered.

"Not much of a talker, are you?" Fae snuggled closer to me and I puffed out my chest. She was afraid of my sister? "Okay you're boring. I'm gonna-" as Noelle turned to leave, Fae left my side and stood directly in front of my sister. "Get out of my way." Fae didn't budge and it made me somewhat proud that my Mate was standing up to a girl that had a good foot and a half on her. "Listen, pipsqueak, I can leave when I damn well want to leave. So get your scrawny a$$ out of my way." I almost growled at my sister, but I was too shocked when a menacing growled echoed from Fae's throat.

Noelle backed up a few steps and Fae advanced. "I am no pipsqueak, Noelle, do not treat me as if I am below you because I am not. You may be the Alpha's sister, but I am his Mate, which makes me Luna and that means that I have power over you. Just because you are Mate to his Beta does not make you special in the slightest. Lose the b*tchy attitude and we'll get along just fine." My chest swelled with pride for my Mate. She was accepting her Luna title, which means that she has accepted me as her Mate!

"You're going to let her talk to me like that?!"

"I wouldn't if she were wrong," I smirked. "Run along now, I think we're both tired of your stank attitude." Noelle scoffed and left, glaring at Fae. She slammed the door and I growled. Turning to Fae I smiled and picked her up, swinging her all around. "You were amazing!"

"Your sister is a-" I didn't know what I was thinking, but I did it anyway. I kissed her. I cupped her tiny cheek in my large hands and leaned in till our lips met. She was so soft and so warm. I felt her tense up and I wondered if I had done the wrong thing, but when she sighed in content and wrapped her arms around my neck I caved. I moved my hands from her face to her waist, picking her up with our lips still attached. There was no doubt in my mind that I was in love with this woman.

Does anyone else think that Noelle is a total biotch?! Bet you've never seen the sister be rude to the Mate and if you have then awesome cuz I haven't in all the stories I've read. Usually the sister is the pampered and friendly girl😂Make sure to check out the latest update of the Arrangement!
