Lucian

My senses were on overload the second I heard that scream. I grabbed Fae by the waist and ran out to the cellar. Every room in the house was a battle ground and it was hard to get through. We were being protected by pack members and warriors who were tearing down rouges one by one. Some of the Alphas had already arrived for the meeting and were letting the Rouges have it. I was encouraged by how quickly they were dropping; we were winning.

I was in high spirits until a wolf came barreling at me. I quickly shielded Fae as we were sent flying through a glass window. I heard Fae cry out as we hit the dirt outside. While I inspected her injuries, Rouges were circling around us, growling.

Just give her to us and nobody else gets hurt a familiar voice said to me.

Garrett

He stepped out of the brush and smiled, holding out his hand. "Give her to us, Lucian, there doesn't have to be bloodshed."

F**k you, you ba**ard.

"Okay then." He snapped his fingers and his band of wolves pounced on us. I shielded Fae as best as I could do, fighting them off. She stood and punched the jaw a wolf about to bite me, causing him to whimper in pain before she snapped his neck. Damn my Mate was sexy. She shifted and growled, sending a shock of power out to all who could hear; it caused some of the wolves to step back some.

This is my pack I heard her say. I felt pride for my Mate as we fought side by side; together. We were fending them off pretty well for a while until a crippling pain was felt on my side. I looked down and saw no blood or wound on me, but when I looked down to inspected myself, I saw my Mate fall to the ground with a male Rouge on her. I quickly ripped out the throat of the one I was fighting before decapitating the one on top her. I looked at her face, bruised and bloodied. Her face was getting pale.

Garrett shifted and sighed. "I told you just to give her to us, but this is what war brings; death."

"Man, shut the f**k up." I grabbed him by the throats and he smiled, punching my face. I let go slightly and he slipped away. "I've been under you for years Lucian and you never saw it."

"What are you talking about?"

"And I had no choice, but to kill your Mate for you to see it."

"See what? What are you saying?"

"I'm in love with you, Lucian." Okay, what the actual f**k. This news surprised me so much, I burst out laughing. "W-Why are you l-laughing? Don't laugh at me!"

"Garrett, we've been best friends for our entire lives and never once have you mentioned being gay."

"I'm not gay, I just love you not any other men."

"That's still being gay and killing my Mate isn't going to make me notice you. I have no problem with you being gay, but killing my Mate only makes me want to kill you." And with that, I grabbed his throat again, but wasted no time in tearing his head from his body. I ran to my Mate and hugged her close to my chest. It seemed that the chaos around us slowed to a stop; the war was over. I felt hot tears spring from my eyes as I looked at her injuries. I giant slash on her side, dozens of cuts to her face, but the one that really got me was the one she had her hand over; A gaping hole in her stomach. The air was thick with the smell of her blood.

She was gasping for air and I fell apart; my Mate was dying. The tears fell more now and my vision became blurry as pack members gather around, getting on one knee for her. No! I wanted to shout. She isn't dead yet! Get up! Get up! I cried out, more like wailed, to the sky. I tried to wipe the blood off her face, but more poured from her nose and mouth. There was nothing I could do to stop the flow of crimson blood. I held her close and screamed, feeling the bond being ripped from me. I desperately tried to reach her.

Fae! Fae, baby!

L-Lucian.

Yes! Baby, don't worry, okay? We'll get you all better in no time.

She sighed through the link. Lucian, I'm not going to get better.

What are you talking about? Of course you're-

Baby, just let me die without having an argument with you. Hold me, kiss me, but please don't argue with me. My tears fell on her face as I kissed her cold lips, the taste of her blood now on mine.

There.

Thank you. Listen to me, okay?

I am.

F-Fine your second chance...you won't be hurting me if you do, I promise. I want you to find her, okay? Be happy and have strong heirs.

Fae-

Remember what I said about arguing?

Okay, okay. I kissed her again, but this time I felt her lips respond. I deepened the kiss almost willing her to come back to life; to get better, but when I pulled away I saw what I was not prepared to see. Life had gone completely out of her eyes...she was dead.

"Move!" A voice shouted from behind the crowd. They all scurried to get out of the way of the person who had commanded them. It was my mother, the Moon Goddess. In full attire, I might add. Her long white hair was down, she wore a long, white dress with jewelry covering her. She hurried down the path they had made for her to Fae's body.

"She's gone," I whispered.

"You're wrong, my son. She hasn't reached the realm yet, so I need to know something."

"What is it?"

"I can save her by passing on my title to her, but I will die and she will live. If I do not then you find your second chance Mate and I will choose my successor at a different time."

"And you're asking me to choose?"

"Yes."

"I-I-"

I'm so sorry for the late update and this killer cliffhanger, but tbh I don't know what to choose! Comment if you want to see Fae live or die? Second chance mates are supposed to be stronger and more powerful, with the better chance of having stronger children, but the first Mate has a stronger mental connection and is more attached.

Comment, please! I would like to see you beauties take on the situation at hand.
