Fae

"That's absolutely lovely, Racheal," I say to her, patting her head. I was doing what I loved most, teaching my art class to the pups. "Good work, Bobby, keep it up! Very nice, Bryon." Today we were learning about mixing colors and I must say that the pups were learning fast. I didn't get any questions about being blind because they really had no idea what that meant, but I had already seen their work and it was beautiful. Teaching the pups makes me excited for the arrival of my own. What Julian said worried me a little and admitting what happened to Lucian broke my heart, but we were still going to be parents of a child that would soon be the Alpha-boy or girl didn't matter. "Alright everyone, clean up and wash your brushes!" A chorus of disappointed "Aw"s filled the air and I giggled. "There is always next Thursday! Make sure your practicing!" I felt Lucian's presence to the far right, where the door way was, and I smiled. The pups all greeted him on their way out and we were alone.

"Hello, darling," he said, walking to me and kissing my cheek.

"Hey there," I smiled while leaning into him. "Get some work done?"

"A little bit, but I just couldn't keep my mind off of you. How is the baby?" I giggled at his cheesy joke and smiled.

"Healthy and growing. I have a slight bump now."

"That's good. I talked to Julian some today."

"Oh?"

"Since this is your second Alpha pup and the father is different it'll take more time to grow in you." I should've protected her he says to himself.

I put my hand on his cheek. "You're protecting me now, Lucian. Don't think about what you could've done and focus on what you can do now."

"Yeah, you're right, as always." I smiled and pecked his lips.

"How about some lunch?"

"Yeah! You're eating for two now, so we gotta get something big."

"I haven't had any cravings yet, but I think a tuna sandwich would be fine," I laughed, walking out to the adult section. Serena was still working on the piece for the pup's room, but she wouldn't let us see it and also insisted on a pup shower. I agreed once she told me she would reveal the painting there.

Lucian grabbed my hand and led us out into the warm, summer day. We walked for a few minutes before reaching the pack house. "You sit on the couch and I'll make your sandwich, okay?"

"Okay. Thank you," I kissed him and sat on the couch, taking my shoes off to relax. I took in a deep breath and sighed, reclining back and closing my eyes. That's when I felt a shock go through my entire body and I opened my eyes. My ears were ringing and there was a faint cry of a baby-my baby. My vision was blurry, but I could make out the ceiling of the pack hospital and Julian's hair. My breathing sped up as I tried to look around, my heart pounding in my ears. Julian was on my right and Lucian to my left, holding a bundle of a blanket. It was our baby, crying.

"Clear!" Another shock ran through me as I gasped for air, reaching for my Mate and pup.

"FAE!" Lucian screamed as he held our child. "FAE! FAE, WAKE UP!" I bolted up and out of my seat, gasping for air as darkness returned to my eyes. I had to see. I commanded the color to return to my eyes to see Lucian. I turned to look at him, fright evident in my features. "Honey, are you alright?" He set down the plate of food on the glass coffee table and was by my side in an instant. "What's wrong?"

"I-It was a vision," I gasped, still out of breath.

"Of who?"

"Of me."

"What happened?" His eyes were dark with concern, his eyebrows furrowed with a frown on his lips.

"I-I don't really know. I was being shocked and the baby was screaming and you were screaming...I just don't know why."

"Do these visions come true?"

"Some, yes."

"I think we need to be extra careful with this pregnancy, Fae." I nodded in agreement and pulled him close to me, kissing the frown away. His hands gripped my waist as he kissed me, earnestly. He was scared....

And so was I.
