The long awaited chapter seventeen!! Point of view skips are frequent so pay attention, but with the ending of the last chapter I think you'll be hanging onto every word😂

Lucian

"I-I-How could you ask me that?!"

"It's alright, my son, I've lived my life."

"Momma-"

"Shh." She took in a deep breath and let it out. "Everyone, close your eyes!" We had no choice, but to obey the Moon Goddess' command. "You can look, Lucian." I gradually opened my eyes to see my mother lying on the ground next to my Mate, holding her hand. "I pass my title to this Luna, Fae, giving her my power, authority, and grace as well as responsibility to her." She closed her eyes and breathed in, smiling. "I'm ready, Vincent," she whispered. I watched with tears in my eyes as my mother's hair shortened and turned to her natural blue whilst my Mate's hair lengthened and turned a brilliant white. The whole in her chest enclosed as well as the others and my mother's breathing began to slow. I made my way over to her, holding her hands and looking down at her.

"I love you, Mom," I whispered, kissing her cheek. "Give Dad a kiss for me." A tear fell on her forehead and she smiled brighter.

"I love you too, Lucian."

As soon as Fae began to breath again, my mother stopped and I knew she had done it. Fae was now the Moon Goddess and my mother was gone. I kissed my mom's cheek and went to sit by my Mate. "Fae?" She made a few noises before her eyelashes started fluttering. "Fae, can you hear me?"

"Lucian?" Her voice was raspy and almost like she had been screaming in her sleep. Her eyes shot open and she gasped. "Lucian!" Her eyes were a vibrant violet. "Lucian, I can see you!" It must have been part of the healing process she went through when she became the Moon Goddess. "What happened? Did we win? Where's your mom?" She still hadn't looked over.

I took in a deep breath. "Listen to me very carefully, Fae. When the Moon Goddess gives over her title to another she-wolf...she dies and in order to save you...my mother-she..."

"No. No, that can't be true." She turned her head to look away from me, but found my mother's cold body next to her, still holding her hand. Shock enveloped her face and she screamed, sitting up. "Juniper!" She threw herself on my mother, crying. I took her by the waist, pulling her back as gentle as I could.

"Baby, she's already gone."

"W-Why would she do that?"

"She loves you, Fae." Tears poured down her face at the loss of my mother. I knew they had been close, but I never knew how close they had really been. She had gained her sight and life, but lost her dearest friend.

My sister was alive! I breathed a sigh of relief at my work. I had spoken with a few of the rouges I was really good friends with and they were on my side. In turn, they also managed to get a lot of the rouges on our side too. Alpha Lucian had let them join the pack, all 250 of them! I was astonished at his level of compassion and generosity.

As soon as Fae was able to stand, she was led to the pack house that is now being repaired. She refused to come out for the night bonfire and I didn't see Lucian after his speech either. I sighed and pulled my Mate closer to me, watching as she roasted marshmallows for the pups.

"Then you blow it out," she said, blowing out the flame on the marshmallow. "And stick it on your Graham crackers and chocolate." She smiled and handed the one she made to a little boy who gobbled it down. "Would you like to see how to make a golden brown marshmallow?"

"Yeah!" She giggled and showed them how, encouraging them to try one on their own as she was doing it. My Mate was truly amazing and I couldn't silence the want to have pups of our own soon. How long would I have to wait? I looked off to the gloomy pack house and wondered how my sister, the Moon Goddess, was doing....

Fae

I stood at the full-length mirror in our closet and took in a deep breath. Lucian said that the eyes and hair were a Moon Goddess trait and that I had black hair before; I would've liked to see it. As soon as a pup was born, I knew it and I knew who his Mate would be. Donovan will be mated with Serenity, who will be born in a few years. It was like an instinct that I had been using for years. Somehow, I knew exactly what to do even though I had never done it before.

Lucian stood behind me, gently rubbing my shoulders. "You'll get used to seeing yourself and others around you soon, I'm sure."

"I'll never get used to seeing you," I said, turning. He smiled and kissed me, but he could tell my whole heart wasn't in it.

"She did it for you, Fae."

"I know."

"It'll get better."

It did not.
