I had hid myself away from everyone to focus on what was about to come. Tears streamed down my face at what I was going to have to do. I loved all my children and I would do anything for them and this was one of the things I had to do. When the Moon Goddess passes her title to another she wolf, the previous Moon Goddess dies and I was going to have to pass my title soon. I knew that it would be tough for Lucian, losing his father not long ago had nearly crushed him, but he had Fae now and that comforted me some.

I sipped my tea and looked out the window into the woods. The cottage has been very lonely since Vincent passed and giving my title gave me a bit of hope actually; I would see him again. I closed my eyes and it was like I could see him in front of me. His eyes shined with passion and his hands felt so familiar on my face. His lips touched my forehead and I sighed at the tingles of warmth that spread through me.

"Juniper."

"Vincent." I smiled and looked at my Mate's face.

"Look at you, my flower. How beautiful you are."

"You mean how old I am." I chuckled.

"You look even more ravishing this way." He took my hands in his, lacing them together. It was just like how everything used to be.

"I have to pass on my title soon." I told him, looking down.

"I know." He lifted up my chin. "And I can't wait to see you again."

"But Lucian-"

"Our son will be fine. There is a time of grief, yes, but with Fae by his side he will soar past it."

"You're right as always."

"It will be hard, but worth it." I nodded and looked into his eyes. It had been so long since we last did this. He saw the need in my eyes and sought to fill it by pressing his lips to mine. I wrapped my arms around his neck and fell into the kiss. This was my Mate.

I opened my eyes to the woods just beyond the small cottage. It was a vision. I sighed and got up to pour out my cold tea in the kitchen. I missed him deeply every single day. I would see him again once I gave over my title and the day was approaching fast if Baylor pulled through for me.

Lucian

I kissed up her neck and nibbled at her ear lobe. "Wake up, love." She groaned swatted at me, rolling over. "Come on, Fae, we have a pack meeting you need to be present for." She sighed and sat up, popping her back, shoulders, wrists, and ankles one at a time. It made me flinch a little. I kissed her cheek and went to draw a bath for her.

"Lucian?"

"Yes, my love?"

"Where's your mother?"

"Probably at home in her cottage."

"Cottage?"

"My father built it for her after I was born so that when I took over they could have a place of their own."

"Oh."

"Are you alright?"

"I can't feel her anymore and I always could before."

"She may just be pairing mates."

"Maybe."

"What is it, Fae?"

"I'm just worried."

"She's fine."

"I feel like something is about to happen; something terrible." All of the sudden, glass shattered from down stairs and growls were heard through the house.

"ROUGES!!"
