Halos lalabas na yung puso ko sa kaba as I stared in disbelief at the creature before us.
"M-Mamamatay na talaga ako!" I cried out in fear, my voice trembling with terror as the reality of the situation sank in. Eto na nga ba ang sinasabi ni Alisha eh!
"Is that a serpent? Totoo?" I exclaimed, my eyes widening in horror at the sight of the serpent. It was no myth - THIS IS FREAKING REAL!
"Your Highness, don't look into its eyes! Kahit anong mangyari, don't stare at it!" Alisha's voice warned, snapping me out of my shock. Tumango ako and I took my gaze away from the creature's hypnotic stare.
The serpent lunged forward, its left-head leading the attack, but Alisha managed to dodge its strike with lightning-fast reflexes. Bago pa namin mahabol ang hininga namin, the right-head followed immediately, we managed to avoid most of it, pero it managed to leave a deep gash on my right arm.
"Ah!" I winced in pain, clutching my injured arm as the serpent continued attacking us. Dali-dali kong pinunit ang suot ko and applied pressure to my bleeding wound. This could lead to blood loss kaya I need to do this. Pero literal, ang sakit talaga!
"Luckily this serpent doesn't have a venom, but that will surely hurt just as bad." Nag-alalang sabi ni Alisha. Ininda ko ang sakit, this is my fault in the first place.
Umatras kami aakmang tatakas, but it moved with such incredible speed that it cut off our route before we could make our escape.
"Is that super speed?!" I gasped in astonishment, watching in awe as the serpent closed in on us once more, leaving us with no means of escape. Jusko! Snap out of it, Twila! Nanganganib na nga buhay niyo oh, there's no time for being amazed!
The center-head of the serpent charged in, catching Alisha off guard. I was shocked when Alisha took the full hit from the serpent. Kitang-kita ko ang sakit sa mukha niya as the serpents sharp teeth sank into her skin, making blood gush out of her body. Mabilis na kumalas si Alisha at lumayo sa serpent.
"Alisha!" I shouted, my voice breaking with anguish and regret. I tried to stop the bleeding with my arms trembling in desperation. "Alisha, I-I'm so sorry, k-kung hindi lang kita pinilit pumunta dito *hik*, s-sorry," I said crying. Ang selfish ko! Alisha already warned me and I didn't listen! Napahamak pa tuloy si Alisha dahil sakin!
"It's too dangerous, bumaba ka." She demanded. Right, baka nahihirapan siya with me still riding her back, tears streaming down my face as I obeyed her command.
She bravely faced the serpents, biglang naging gray ang kulay ng serpent, is this her power? As she battled the serpents by herself, my guilt became fell deeper each second. Ano ba'ng magagawa ko?
But even with her powers, she couldn't evade every strike, and I couldn't bear to see her wounded. At this point, I hated myself for being this useless. Hindi ko na alam anong nangyayari, basta't lumapit ko with fury burning in my veins.
