Chapter 8: Memory

Twila's POV

We did our morning rituals as usual and lumapit si Ally dala-dala ang isang cup noodles. May ganto din pala dito? Anyways.

"Ally, Saturday naman ngayon, ah? Ba't ang aga niyo akong ginising?" Tanong ko habang kinakain yung cup noodles na dala ni Ally.

"Eh kasi, hindi ka pa kumakain! Plus, we're giving you a tour of the academy." She replied cheerfully, her eyes sparkling with enthusiasm. Just then, Freysha emerged from the bathroom, her hair still damp and tousled. Now that I think about it, oo nga 'no? Hindi ko pa na-tour ng maayos itong napaka-laking academy na 'to. Na-busy din kasi agad, ayan tuloy 'di ako nakapag-gala.

"Let's go to the food hall or mall after the tour. But for now, kumain ka muna ng cup noodles." I heard Freysha say, agad ko namang sinunod, because I already felt hungry.

Pagkatapos kong kumain, nagsuot lang ako ng simpleng white t-shirt paired with my blue skinny jeans and a white samba. It was a casual look, but I wanted to feel comfortable for the tour. Simple girl ang atake ko ngayon, tour lang naman sa school ang gagawin.

"Ang ganda mo namang tingnan kahit simple lang suot mo, Twi!" Freysha commented while fixing her hair. I caught a glimpse of myself in the mirror and rolled my eyes playfully.

"Bola talaga" I shot back, rummaging through to get my wallet, baka may gusto akong bilhin along the way.

After getting ready, we decided to just walk around. And yes, nakakapagod talaga. They insisted on walking to really savor the tour.

After a few minutes, I learned a lot about the places we visited—the Training Hall, Arena, Department Buildings, the Mall, the Hospital—and now we were headed to the back of the school to see the pool. But then I spotted a massive tree and felt an irresistible urge to climb it.

"Wag! Kay Vlad ang puno na yan." Ally warned, sensing my intentions. But really, who cares if it's his tree?

"Sus, wala namang pangalang naka-ukit eh. I just wanna see what's up there. I'll be back in a jiffy." I said, already scaling the trunk. I heard Ally and Freysha shout for me to be careful, but I just nodded, determined to reach the top. Kahit hindi halata, sanay akong umakyat ng puno, but this is the largest one so far. 

After 1234567890 years, naakyat ko siya. And boy that was tiring! My legs and shoulders felt so numb! Although sanay ako, kung hindi lang talaga dahil sa kuryosidad ko, I would never climb this enormous tree.

All the tiredness seemed to have vanished dahil sa ganda ng tanawin dito! The breathtaking view made every bit of effort worth it.

I could see all of Lemuria Academy laid out below me. The training fields stretched out in one direction, filled with students practicing their skills, while the main building stood tall and impressive in the distance.

There was a sturdy bench nestled among the branches, worn but inviting. I sat down, feeling the tree sway gently beneath me. The bench was in the perfect spot to catch the cool breeze, making it a nice place to relax and take in everything around me.

But suddenly, my head ached, and random flashes of light surged through my mind.

"Wow! Ang ganda naman dito." Manghang sabi ng batang babae.

"What are you doing here?" A little guy entered the scene.

"Hello! Pwede mag-tanong? Nasaan tong lugar na 'to?" Asked the little gitl.

"You're in Lemuria Academy. You should know that. Im ---" The little girl couldn't hear what the name was.

"Ano?" Tanong ng babae. "Ang hina naman ng boses mo, bata!"
