Chapter 15: That Damn, Impossible Guy

Twila's POV

"I know you're awake." I heard the nurse say. Instantly, I opened my eyes. She was staring at me intently, ngumiti lang ako ng bahagya. "How are you feeling?" she asked, her tone was calm as she assessed me with her ability. 

Kakadating ko lang sa hospital, and the entire time I was pretending to be unconscious, sabi ko na nga ba, mahahalata ng nurse. Ginalingan ko naman ang acting ko, ah?

"I feel..." Pinakiramdaman ko muna ang sarili ko, my body feels heavy pero nothing serious. "Fine?" 

"Any immediate pain?" she pressed.

"Wala po." I answered, sitting up slowly. She nodded and scribbled something into her recorder.

"We suspect it's just fatigue and stress, but we can't know for sure." She glanced at my file and pursed her lips. "You've been fainting a lot recently, according to your records. Any existing medical conditions?" She looked at me with a strange expression--- her gaze was... weird. It felt less concern and more like judgment. I couldn't help but read her mind.

'She's nothing special, typical fake fainting para mapansin ni Vlad,'  I mentally rolled my eyes, another Vlad fanatic.  

"'Di ko naman sinadya." I muttered to myself. And bakit ko naman sasadyain? Para pansinin ng Vlad niyong ang pangit ng ugali? Duh? 

But I couldn't entirely blame her for the suspicion. Vlad had been the one bringing me here each time I fainted- for the third time na actually.  A very disturbing coincidence, kaya siguro akala nila sinasadya ko. 

And yes, siya nagdala saakin dito, sa mismong room na 'to, kaya nga I pretended to be unconscious the whole way here e, ang awkward naman kasi. Kahit nakapikit ang mga mata ko, feel na feel ko yung mga nakakamatay na tingin. This guy can teleport but he chose to walk all the way here! I know inutusan siya ni professor but teleporting would've been easier, like hello? And what's with Vlad and me fainting talaga? Because of that, now I have to deal with this nurse who was clearly annoyed by what she saw. 

I know you guys are wondering, why on earth Earth do you keep fainting, Twila? The reason why I kept fainting was because of my powers. My powers are really too much for my body to handle. As I said before, my body is literally a ticking time bomb, the slightest manifestation of my power, like that prophesy, can render me unconscious. Those flashes of memory were also a manifestation of my identity waiting to be unleashed.

"What did you say?" She asked not catching what I said.

I shook my head. "Wala po." I can practically see her eyes rolling. It's just so unfair because I didn't ask for Vlad to carry me here 'no? Kulang nalang ipa-announce ko pa 'yan kay Headmistress, e. Just moments after fainting, I opened my eyes to see Vlad over me, he was carrying me bridal style. I could even remember how he looked. 

He was drenched, water dripping from his wet hair, trailing down his sharp jawline and along the line of his neck. Siya siguro yung kumuha saakin sa pool. His chest rose and fell with each breath, and I couldn't help but notice the way his Adam's apple moved when he spoke to our professor. His face was set in a serious expression, his brows furrowed, the usual look on his face. He was undeniably handsome--- kinda- I mean he is, but his personality is rotten. 

The nurse's voice broke through my thoughts. "I think you have a fever." She placed her cold hand on my forehead, making me flinch a little. Huh? Panong lalagnatin? I feel fine. Hindi naman 'yan part sa symptoms ng power surge ko.
