Chapter 10: Mother
Twila's POV
I was already late, but honestly, I didn't care. I walked through the empty hallway, lost in thought, still processing that memory.
After that frightening memory resurfaced, the dark presence that triggered it suddenly vanished. Para akong sinuntok sa mukha—me, the long-lost princess of Infinia? Seriously, all that in one early morning? Ang dami kong nalaman, parang overload na yung utak ko. What's worse is hindi ko nga alam kung totoo ba yun. I couldn't even wrap my head around the thing I saw earlier--- I'm scared to call it a memory because I would be acknowledging it as mine.
Baka may sakit ba ako sa utak? Kung ano-ano nalang naiisip ng ulo ko. Kulang ba ako sa tulog?
Classes went by in a blur. I was physically there, but mentally? I was somewhere else entirely. I barely heard what the teachers were saying. Parang naka-timelapse lang lahat.
"Twila, you good?" Asked one of my classmates, honestly, I don't think I am.
Lunch came, but I had no appetite. My stomach felt twisted, probably from everything that had happened. If that thing was real, that would mean... I killed someone.
"Twila!" Ivy's voice snapped me out of my daze. She ran up to me with her usual energy, and I forced a smile. "Ang lalim ng iniisip natin, ah." she teased, laughing.
I laughed back, though weakly. My eyes shifted to Aqua, Flame, and Vlad, who were walking behind her. Vlad, as usual, had that icy glare—na parang nangangain ng tao. Whatever. I wasn't in the mood to care.
"Mga bagay-bagay lang," I mumbled, trying to dodge the subject. "You guys are back" I added, wanting to change the topic quickly. They're from a mission, kaya wala sila dito for days.
"Yeah, and marami kaming chika! Sabay ka na sa amin!" Aqua suggested cheerfully, but I shook my head.
"May pupuntahan pa ako. Next time nalang." I lied. In reality, I couldn't stomach the thought of eating— busog na busog na ako sa mga nalaman ko.
"Awww, sayang naman! See you later, Twi! Love you!" Ivy said, ever the ball of sunshine.
"Eat well! Love you too! Bye guys!" I called back, waving as I hurriedly walked away. Habang naglalakad ako I suddenly felt dizzy, my vision blurred, and then, black out.
Where on Earth— Solar System or anywhere else in the universe—am I?
I blinked a few times, trying to adjust to the strange, dazzling surroundings. Nilibot ko ang aking mata. The place was beyond beautiful, like something out of a dream. Wait... sino yan? There was a woman ahead of me, her back turned. She wore a flowing white gown, her long hair cascading down like a waterfall. Oh my gosh- White lady? Ano na namang kalokohan 'to? Nahihibang na ba talaga ako?
As she slowly turned to face me, my heart skipped a beat.
HOLY MOTHER OF CHEETOS! She was stunning! Like, unbelievably gorgeous—probably in her 30s but with an ethereal beauty that seemed timeless. Nahihibang na ata ako kung sasabihin kong slight kamukha ko siya-- joke! Who am I kidding? Daig niya pa ang mga artista! She's way too pretty for us to look alike!
"Twilight," she said, her voice soft but filled with emotion. Hindi ako nakareact dahil niyakap niya ako ng mahigpit.
I gently pulled away, my confusion growing. Her voice... it sounded like... the one from my dream. Pero baka I'm mistaken lang. Her voice sounds so sweet, yung sa panaginip ko nakakatakot, e. Pero that would explain the 'Twilight' thing.
