Wow, I don't know what to say.

This was REALLY hard, and I'm still not that pleased with the outcome.

Then again, I was using cheap watercolors, but still. Paint is paint.

I don't normally use paint. I'm way better at making art with a pencil and paper in hand. But, I really want to start teaching myself how to paint. I know a whole lot about proportions and anatomy, and I can draw fine... so I thought, how hard can painting be?

IT WAS REALLY HARD. Especially with watercolor. I wish I had some oil-based acrylics. And shading is so difficult, especially with watercolors. Somehow, I managed to finish the piece, though.

The hair isn't very realistic, and the paint is splotchy in some areas... but other than that, I think it's actually okay. Especially considering I don't paint often. I prefer pencils.

So...

I was just minding my own business, finishing up the last chapter of Consequences, when I though: Man! I'm bored.

Then I had a great idea!

You know how the Crystal Temple has that painting of Rose Quartz. I thought, the Rainbow Temple needed one too! So I started with the face, then that one smaller ringlet over the shoulder, then the arms and dress, then the gem, and finally, the rest of the hair.

I painted for about an hour or two last night, and this morning was another hour. When I tried to put my signature at the bottom, it came out weird. Turn out, canvas board is hard to write on too, since its surface is bumpy. But, I didn't have a paintbrush small enough to paint my signature, so... yeah.

Anyway, my next course of action is finding a place to hang this painting. Also to clean up my mess.

So, what do you guys think of it?
