'Jul wake up. Are you already awake? No, of course you are not. You're such a sleepyhead. Seriously, wake up!'

Meredith opens the curtains and the sun shines in my eyes. I moan, turn around and pull the blanket over my head, trying to go back to sleep. 'I didn't think so, girl!' she says and pulls away my blanket. 'Seriously, Mer? I just want to sleep, it's too early.' I mumble, covering my face with my hands. 'It's 9 am, I could have woken you up earlier', she responds with a shrug.

I sit up, still half-sleeping. 'Why wake me this early?' 'You promised we could go shopping together, remember? I think you've got a hangover because of the Doritos. What did you put in those? By the way, I saw you and Tal, what was that?' Meredith rambles and sits next to me. How could she possibly be that energetic in this part of the day?

When it finally hits what she just said, I sit up. 'What do you mean?' She laughs. 'You're red! Hahaha I saw you from the top of the stairs. That subtle kiss on the cheek though! You should have gone in for the full kiss babe!'

I feel my cheeks heating up even more. 'No... um... he doesn't like me that way... I guess, I think. I'm not sure. Why would I?' She laughs even harder. 'Girl! Of course he likes you! Have you seen his face?' I shake my head and try to ignore her at the same time, realizing I am answering her question and thus, not ignoring her. It's too early for my brain to be thinking properly, apparently.

I decide to quickly ask something back at her. 'What about you and Adi?' I ask her. Now it's her turn to turn slightly pink. The only difference is that it looks cute on her while I resemble more of a lobster with a sprinkle of tomato. 'Um nothing, why?' I just raise an eyebrow. 'Sure.' A phone rings so I look. It's Meredith's phone and I see Adi calling her. I laugh and she quickly grabs it away from me and runs upstairs.

After five minutes, I've gotten used to the light and I put my hair up in a bun. It isn't worth calling a bun, though. It's more like a bird's nest. I walk to the bathroom and splash water on my face. I'm awake now. I put on a pair of shorts and a loose off-the-shoulder top. Then I look in the mirror. I look tired. It could be because I feel tired and the mirror is reflecting that. That's the point of a mirror. Wow, I am so smart in the mornings.

I pull my hair out my bun again and brush my hair. After I brushed it, I put it in a loose braid and I head downstairs to the kitchen to get something to eat. I grab a glass of water and I drink it slowly while looking at the mess we made out of the living room. I sigh. I put my now empty glass on the table and start cleaning up a bit.

After 15 minutes, I hear Meredith coming downstairs as well. She has been on the phone with Adi for really long. I see her hair sitting imperfect again. 'And?' I ask. 'He's so cute! He asked me if he could come and get his sunglasses, which he forgot here', she says.

'When is he coming?' I ask her. 'In an hour, why?' she asks. 'Because we would go shopping', I help her remember. 'Oh, I forgot. We can still go shopping afterward?' she sort of asks me, apologizing at the same time.

'No, it's ok, we'll go shopping some other day', I say. I don't want to be in the same house as them because I would be third-wheeling so badly. 'You sure?' Meredith asks. 'No, it's fine, I am tired anyway.' I'm not that tired to not go shopping, but well. If I can make her happy with a little white lie, why wouldn't I?

Half an hour later, we are done cleaning and eating our breakfast. I quickly gather my stuff because Adi will be here soon and Meredith is not happy with her look. 'What should I wear?' she shouts at me from upstairs. 'Clothes. I'm sure you'll find a cute outfit, Mer. Love you, bye!' I shout to her and I walk out her door. It's warm outside and I love the smell. It smells like flowers mixed with sun, although I'm not sure what sun would smell like.

Luckily, our houses are very close and I'm not expected home yet. So I decide to softly drop my bag at home before I go to the park. I do just that and fifteen minutes later I am sitting in the sun on a park bench.

I open my eyes again because I feel something brushing against my leg. I look down and it is an adorable little dog. It looks like a Shih Tzu, one of the little dog breeds I know. I pick it up to pet it, since its owner doesn't seem to be around.

After petting the little dog, that is called Teddy according to his name tag, for about a minute, a girl slightly older than me comes running in the park. She sees the dog next to me and immediately her concerned look turns into a relieved smile.

She starts to walk up to me and after thanking me way too many times, she takes Teddy with her and I walk back to my house to grab a book. Today is a good day to be reading outside. It's not too hot in the shade and combined with the cool wind that sometimes blows, it's perfect.
