I open my eyes because I just know it's really light outside so I won't sleep anymore. Why didn't I close the curtains? Why are my legs so cold, did I not use a blanket or something? I feel something heavy laying on my stomach. I look down and see a soundly asleep Tal. He looks so peaceful.
I squint my eyes against the bright light. The sun is literally shining straight into my eyes. After a few seconds, my eyes are adjusted to the bright light. The sun is just rising and the colors are really pretty. I sit up hesitantly and slowly, trying not to wake Tal.
When I've completed my task of sitting up, I feel Tal move his head on my lap. I look at him when he wakes up, him doing the exact same thing I was just a few minutes ago. He opens his eyes and squints them immediately. Then he seems to realize he's laying on my lap.
'Oh, I'm sorry, have you been awake for long?' he asks while slowly opening his eyes more and sitting up. I miss the warmth immediately. 'No, it's no problem. I've been awake for about three minutes or something. And I don't mind you laying on my lap.' 'I don't mind sleeping there. Your legs are really comfortable.'
'I must say that is the weirdest compliment I've ever gotten, but thank you!' Tal blushes slightly. Then I remember something. 'Where is that bag we brought?' I think out loud. Tal reaches out his arm and grabs it for me. 'Thanks', I mumble to him. I quickly dial my mother's number and she picks up almost immediately.
'Where do you think you are, Julia? We were really worried. Not even leaving a note!' 'Mom, look on the kitchen table. And I called to say I was doing fine. I'm with Tal, he's doing pretty good as well, so there is no need to worry. Love you, bye!' I hang up before she can start questioning what I'm doing with Tal this early. And I don't think she'd appreciate me sneaking out of the house in the middle of the night.
I snuggle up to Tal for warmth. I need it, I'm really cold, even with my sweater. He wraps his arms around me as well, but since we're sitting next to each other, it's a really awkward one. I let him go and scoot in front of him, facing him.
I move slightly so I'm more in front of him, so I can hug him better. I'm trying to get as close to him as possible so that I'll stay warmer. Once I'm seated comfortable, Tal grabs my jaw. His touch is careful and soft as if he would break me if he didn't treat me like that.
He is still holding my jaw. His warm hand is feeling like fire on my skin. I just keep staring into his pretty eyes. I nearly forgot how beautiful they were up close. I smile a small smile, happy in this moment. Tal slowly inches closer, while I stay in my spot. I like to tease him a bit. His lips are really close to mine now and his gaze flickers to my lips more than once.
I know what he wants. He wants me to make the first move. Well, first, first... more like finish what he started. I smile at him. He's too cute. He furrows his brows, catching on to me teasing him. Tal starts to lean back again, knowing I'm not playing along with his game. Now he's teasing me. This is a serious game of teasing each other. And I'm competitive as hell, so he picked the wrong opponent.
The second he's back in his spot he first sat in, I lean in and give him a peck on his lips. 'You little brat', he mumbles. 'Goblin', I remind him. He smiles slightly; he remembers. I'm going to use this new nickname more often. 'Peach.' I squint my eyes at him. Why did he call me that? He knows I don't- wait. He's teasing me, again.
I move my leg so I'm sitting with my legs both on one side of his waist. The roles are reversed now, I'm sitting on his lap instead of him sleeping on mine and I'm even the slightest bit taller than him now. That's new. Tal seems to notice the height difference. He moves his legs so I'm sitting between them and on the blanket again. He doesn't like me being taller, I see.
