I stretch my arms out above my head and yawn. I look at my clock and see it's late in the morning. I smile contently. I put on some fluffy socks and head downstairs, so I can go read a book. I grab my phone, earbuds, and the book I'm currently reading. Then I walk down the stairs.
My mom is off to work, my dad is sitting at the table in sweatpants and a sweater. I chuckle once I compare him to me, with me wearing shorts and a thin sweater there is quite a difference. I give him a kiss on his cheek since he didn't seem to notice me standing there.
He looks up from his computer and smiles at me. I give him a smile back. He looks back at his computer and mumbles a 'good morning'. I say it back and place my book on the table close to him. He doesn't even notice, he's too caught up in replying to emails or something else on that computer.
I put in my earbuds and play some of my favorite music. While softly humming to it, I start making my breakfast. I take my yogurt with me to the couch and stop by the table again on my way to the couch. I pick up my book and start reading where I left off last time.
About two chapters further, I'm finished with my yogurt. I place it on the armrest of the couch and I move my legs a bit so the blood will keep streaming through them. Then I start reading again. I'm a few chapters from the end when I close it against my will. I sigh, knowing I should stop if I really want to be sure I'll be on time for the date with Tal I actually planned myself. It took some time planning because I don't want it to be anything less than perfect.
I make my way to the kitchen and I take the food I made yesterday out of the fridge. I place it in a bag and add some cherry tomatoes, crackers and some little few snacks in there as well. It doesn't take long, I'm done in a few minutes.
I stretch myself out for the second time today. I've literally done nothing productive but reading these few hours and preparing for the date and I love it. I walk up the stairs slowly and put on the outfit I picked out yesterday. It's warm out today, so I decided to wear my favorite dress- the one Tal remembered as well. It just has really good memories attached to it.
After I'm done with putting on some minimal make-up, I skip down the stairs. While trying not to trip. I nearly fell down the stairs, but thanks to my hand holding onto the railing, I didn't.
I breathe out a sigh of relief knowing I didn't just break my ankle and make it down the stairs. Downstairs, my father just made himself a cup of coffee. I don't really like coffee that much, so I wrinkle up my nose slightly. He smiles at that little gesture.
'You did that since you were about 8 years old.' I look at him with a confused expression. 'What do you mean?' 'Every time you smell the smell of very strong coffee, you wrinkle your nose up like that. You've done that since you were about 8 years old. At least, I remember you doing it since then.'
I smile at him. I place a kiss on his cheek again before I say I'm taking the car for the day. 'Where are you going then?' 'I planned a date for me and Tal', I mumble while blushing. 'You really like that kid, don't you?' 'He's not a kid, but yes, I do.' My dad smiles behind his coffee cup. 'Go have fun with him, I'll make sure not to shoot him next time I see him.' 'Or ever, dad. Just don't, keep him alive please', I say smiling. I don't know why, but it's always been a joke in the family that if I ever got myself a boyfriend, he'd have to be careful of my dad with his gun. We don't even own a gun for as far as I know, so I think Tal's safe. I hope he is.
I put on my shoes and grab the bag I prepared. I know we already had a picnic, but I wanted to do one again. I just love them. Tal is nowhere to be seen yet, which could be because I'm about twenty minutes too early. Tal should be here in less than twenty minutes. I hope. If he doesn't ditch me. Which I hope he doesn't.
