I sat quietly as Elijah poured himself a drink. The process was unnaturally slow, and I'm sure he did it just to keep me on edge. My hands were folded neatly in my lap, my legs crossed daintily over one another, as I played with my fingers. Anxiety slowly began to creep its way into my stomach. I could feel my throat tighten and my heart begin to race. Elijah finished off the bottle from which he was pouring for himself and placed it back into the cabinet. Using his heel as leverage, he pushed himself back around in the chair where he sat and faced me. He took a long sip from the glass he held before flicking his gaze to mine. I sat nervously, unsure of what exactly he had in store for me.

"So, you want to see my type of fun?" Elijah spoke, the very sound of his voice sending chills up and down my arms

"So, you want to see my type of fun?" Elijah spoke, the very sound of his voice sending chills up and down my arms.

"That was the plan." I replied, shifting in my chair underneath his impenetrable gaze.

Elijah rose from his seat, his movements achingly slow. As he walked towards me, he looked much like a lion stalking its prey. He moved at a heavy pace, his eyes never straying from mine, and his shoulders and body pushed back as if to assert his dominance. He stopped just inches from where I sat. Then, Elijah slowly bent down, resting the palms of his hands on the arms of the chair, and brought his face only inches from my own. I could feel his hot breath against my cheeks.

"I'm going to ask you again." His voice was like velvet and I shivered at the lack of space between us. "Are you prepared for the type of fun I have in store?"

"I am." I took a shaky breath, watching as his chocolate brown eyes stared into my very soul.

Elijah straighten his posture, and held out a single hand to me. "Come."

I slowly slid my petite fingers into his rather large ones, and he led me through the hallway of his family home. After passing through a few hallways and what looked like the living room, Elijah and I came to a cute kitchen in the very back of the home.

"So what's up first on Elijah's plans for a fun time?" I teased, my playful demeanor only an attempt to cover up the uneasiness I felt inside.

"Well first, I tend to offer my guest a beverage." Elijah let go of my hand and walked over towards the far left cabinet. "What can I get you, Faye?"

"What do you have, Elijah?" I asked, sending him a smile.

"Well, I have anything from simple carbonated water to champagne and red wine."

"I know champagne tends to be more a celebratory drink, but you know what? Why not. Pour me a glass."

"I like a woman who knows what she wants." Elijah grinned, the hint of a twinkle in his eyes.

He pulled a very fancy looking champagne bottle from the cabinet along with two crystal glasses. He swiftly pulled off the top, without the use of a bottle opener, and my jaw dropped.
