I stared out the window, hoping that maybe they'll go away if I avoid eye contact. "Laurel, we need to know what they're planning. Whatever it is, it's probably extremely dangerous." Lupin urged. I accidentally winced, probably confirming their suspicions.
"Dumbledore trusted us with this information. He even told you to trust him! I would betraying him if I told you." I retorted stubbornly. Mrs. Weasley sat where I could see her. "Laurel Marie Collins, you are going to tell me even if I have to purchase Veritaserum to get it out of you!" My eyes widened as Mr. Weasley dragged her away.
Lupin sat in his spot again. "What is it they're planning?" I pursed my lips. "They're not planning anything. That's already been done. They are attempting to succeed a mission." "What's the mission?" He pressed urgently. I shook my head. "I've already told you too much. They can handle it, I'm sure." The adults left me to start packing. Hogwarts was just a few days away.
A Few Days Later
I blew out my cheeks as Ginny, Eva, and I boarded the Hogwarts Express. There were Death Eaters everywhere. Luckily, I put a force field over us just in case they tried anything. Eva sat in the booth in front of me with Erin. I, however, sat with Neville and Ginny. "You've heard who's Headmaster now?" Neville asked in a low voice.
I felt a sickness in the pit of my stomach, knowing I wasn't going to like the answer. "Who?" Ginny asked. "Snape." I grinded my teeth together to keep from vomiting. We are done for, I know it. Suddenly, the train lurched to a stop. We're still an hour away, why are we stopped? I looked out the window and saw clouds of black smoke. Death Eaters.
I put a force field on Eva, who shot me a worried look. Loud noises could be heard from the carts ahead of us. Suddenly, a few Death Eaters walked in and examined us. "My father will hear about this." McCormac told him. I rolled my eyes, desperately wanting to tell him to shut up, but I didn't trust my voice.
Neville stood up. "Hey, losers. He isn't here." My mouth dropped open in shock. The Death Eaters were unfortunately not interested in Neville. They were staring straight at me. One whispered something to their friend and walked out. A lump formed in my throat. This cannot be good at all.

When we arrived at Hogwarts, I shivered in the cold next to Ginny, Neville, and Luna. I saw a patch of cold, dry flowers and touched them lightly. They were as cold as the air. "Dementors." I whispered incredulously. "Come again?" Ginny asked in alarm.
I turned to face my friends, pale. "There are Dementors at Hogwarts." I repeated, feeling a bit woozy. Neville muttered something incoherent. "At least we know to ward them off." Luna told us. It was nice to have someone like Luna, always optimistic even when times were completely horrid. "Come on, we better get going." I told them, picking up the pace. We trudged through the woods to a carriage, trying to not think about the cold or how Snape was going mess up Hogwarts completely.
I sat next to Eva and Ginny at the table in the Great Hall. Lining the hallways and entrances were Death Eaters, of course. Draco was nowhere to be seen, but Crabbe and Goyle were surprisingly here. At the teachers' table, there were two new teachers sitting with the old ones.
They were to be honest very ugly. They had the same disfigured nose and high cheekbones. The sister had flaming red hair pulled into a high ponytail that seemed to be cutting off the circulation to her head. The brother had dark, black hair and even darker eyes.
Snape stood up and made his way to the center of the room, where Dumbledore once stood. I felt a pang when I thought about it, but pushed it aside. Let's see what this bastard has to say. "Good evening. As you may have already guessed, I am the new Headmaster. With this in mind, I have made a few changes to the way we run things around here." he drawled. I wrung my hands together under the table, extremely nervous for some reason.
"There will be guards around the castle at all times along with Dementors. I have two new staff members, the Carrows. They are in charge of discipline and are the Dark Arts teachers." My stomach dropped. The Defense Against the Dark Arts class was now the Dark Arts class. I refused to take this class. I'd fail it, that is how much I was against it. "This can't be happening." Eva whispered. "I wish I could reassure you Ev. But it's true."

As I was walking to the common room, I was stopped by a Death Eater. Stiffening, I jutted my chin out and frostily addressed, "Yes?" He held his wand out and said, "I am required to take you to the Headmaster's office."
I spat, "I have no intentions of going there. Goodnight." He grabbed my wrist and slapped my face. There was definitely going to be a bruise. I tried to resist the grip, but it was too strong. I kicked the guy in they stomach, giving myself the opportunity to run. Others tried to pursue me, but I either used Narnian defenses or casted spells.
I was so busy focusing on the Death Eaters, I had no idea where I was running to. I turned around to see if anyone was coming. "Running from something, Collins?" A voice drawled. I jerked around and pointed my wand at him. "Get away from me." I snarled.
Snape took my wand from my hand and grabbed my wrists with an iron grip. There was no getting out of this. He dragged me to his office and threw me to the ground. "I apologize that it took so long my Lord. She has put up quite the fight." He said to someone.
"You are forgiven Severus. As long as we get what we need." A cold, too familiar voice told him. I looked up and saw someone I wanted to get away from immediately. Voldemort sat behind the Headmaster's desk. "Shall we begin?"
