Jim Moriarty was the kindest, most polite man that you had ever had the good fortune of knowing. Even if it was that he was just - a word used very lightly here - a character in a story-franchise that you loved.
You frequently found yourself doodling Moriarty in your sketch books, in different styles. Sometimes, if you weren't careful, you would be doodling in the back of your exercise books and would draw an accurate picture of him, as played by the actor Andrew Scott in the hit TV series Sherlock.
While you appreciated the main two characters - need they be named? - John and Sherlock, you felt that Moriarty was the real main character in the programme, for yourself. You would spend hours reading and rereading all of Sir Arthur Conan Doyle's stories, especially the ones including Professor Moriarty.
Then, as the future invaded the present, somebody - invariably - had the guts to create a pill to make the consumer's favourite character become a real person. They were mass-produced and in even higher demand, meaning that they were actually pretty expensive.
Somehow, though, you managed to get your hands on one, making your friends envious. The pill worked so that you had to concentrate on that character as you consumed it. Naturally, you used yours to bring the masterpiece of Jim Moriarty to life in the real world. Also naturally, seeing as that was your favourite portrayal of the infamous professor, he came to life as the character from the TV series, rather than any other form, meaning that he looked like actor Andrew Scott.
But you hadn't read the small print on the pill's packaging. When used on the characters that were more of an acquired taste, a side effect of the pill was that the character developed feelings for the person that made them real.
So, when you started receiving messages from the great Moriarty, along with poems and date offers, your heart went into overdrive. You had never felt so happy in your entire life. Eventually, after weeks - well, a week - of being asked out by your favourite character, you accepted his offer.
He took you to a musical - Phantom of the Opera - that you only saw half of, because you couldn't stop looking at him. Then, like a true gentleman, he took you to the Tower of London, so that you could dance and steal the crown jewels together. It was the best night of your life and you were thrilled when he promised more nights like that one.
You had fallen, well and truly, for Professor Jim Moriarty, who had been created by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle. And you didn't ever want to wake up not feeling in love with him.

A/N ~ Shout out to whoever drew Jim in the pic at the top, it's a great drawing!
