(Modern) Merlin X Reader - Spoilers

You were on your way to work when it happened. You didn't see it... Him. You didn't see him coming. You walked right into him, senses blinded as you walked along with your music playing in your ears.
He looked around your age, with his obsidian hair and blue-green eyes. But there was something in his eyes... Like the phrase, 'the eyes are the windows to the soul', he seemed to be older than his years. When you walked into him, you immediately paused your music and pulled out your headphones.
"Oh my gods, I'm so sorry!" Your exclaimed apology seemed to surprise him more than you walking into him. "I'm lost to the world when my music's on! I should've watched where I was going!"
"Nonsense, dear Lady. If you hadn't had your music on at that precise moment, you would've inadvertently changed your own destiny." He seemed to be starting to ramble, but it felt calming, oddly. "Which, by the way, Destiny would never allow."
You laughed slightly, unsure of him, yet somehow immediately liking him. "Uhm... Destiny?" you enquired. "As in, capital 'd', mythology kind of thing?" He nodded, as solemn as can be. "Sorry, I'm having a conversation with you, but I don't know your name."
"I'm Merlin Ambrosius. And you are?" You got a sneaking impression that he already knew who you were, but ignored it when he asked your name.
"My name's (y/n) (l/n). I am dreadfully sorry for walking into you." You looked at your phone and gasped. "I'm afraid that I'm late for work!" You paused looking at him. In the heat of the moment, you made a decision. "What's your mobile number?"
"Would you like me to type it in?" he enquired. You nodded, pulling up a new contact-thing and handing your phone over to him. He typed for a short while on your phone, before handing it back. "Please don't forget to text, (y/n). I feel that we shall meet again."
"Oh, yes," you agreed, starting towards your work once more. "I hope so. Bye Merlin!"
When you were out of earshot, Merlin finally replied. "See you soon, Arthur."
