"Will you stop staring?" Percival whispers as he elbows my arm.
"I am not staring at anyone."
"Sure. Definitely not at Arthur's friend."
"I'm not staring."
Percival raises his eyebrow and then turns away. I can't help it. She's beautiful. Just everything about her is just so perfect. Still, to avoid more of Percival's jaunts, I look away. In fact, I only intend to be near her if I need to be - as much as it hurts. I've met her before, maybe a year and so ago, but I've never told her how I feel. I couldn't.
That evening, Percival insists on dragging me to the tavern. As we become closer, the drunken laughter of Gwaine fills the street.
"You still haven't told me why we're doing this," I remind Percival bluntly.
"I know. You'll see."
I immediately know what it is. (Y/n) is in there. Percival opens the door and invites me in. The tavern is completely empty except the table of my friends and (Y/n), and Gwaine, whose body has been compressed to fit into a box on the ground. Great. All I need is a madman in a box.
I don't say anything accept greet (Y/n). Percival slides a drink my way with a giant smirk on his face. He's planned this all along. I'm going to kill him later.
After a few minutes, Lancelot suggests that they call it a night, and that is (Y/n) wants to stay out, then they're 'sure I'll look after her'. I've got to admit, as stupid as the plan is, it works. It worked. I watch as my friends either walk and stumble (Gwaine) out of the tavern, leaving just me and (Y/n).
"Leon, right?" She asks quietly.
"Yes, my lady."
"Knew it. I remembered you from the last time I was here."
I don't even know how to reply to her.
"Listen, I know this is a weird question, well, it's not really a question. Actually, no, it is. Sorry I'm awkward. The others were telling me that you like me, in that way, and I guess that's why this happened, but uh, sorry I'm rambling. In short -"
She leans across the table and kisses me. She kisses me. As she sits back down, I stare at her with half amazement, half complete confusion.
"Did they put you up to this?"
"No."
"So you actually like me?"
"Yes."
"Seriously?"
"Yes, Leon!" She laughs as she talks.
"Arthur'll kill me if he knows."
"I doubt it."
"What makes you say that?"
"Because I'm here permanently. Long story, but eventually, he'll want me to find someone, and who better than you?"
Well damn. She genuinely likes me. The silence in the room is quickly taken away by the sounds of cheering outside the window. I go to the door to find a group of fully grown men sitting under the window like a bunch of children.
"Care to explain?"
"No?" Elyan says.
"We were -" Gwaine begins before Percival puts his hand over his mouth to stop him talking more.
"Just know that we're happy for you."
"Very happy." Lancelot adds.A/N ~ Thanks to Mernyer for spending their time on writing this. I know that you have a lot of responsibilities and I think I can speak for the readers as well as myself when I say thank you for using your free time to write stories we can all read.
