Mycroft X Reader - Violins

(Y/n) Holmes was the daughter of one of the most famous detectives of all time. This also makes her the niece of the high-ranking government official, Mycroft Holmes. By default, as the only niece Mr Holmes has, he spends generous amounts on her, in a variety of ways.
He had commenced her violin lessons, insisting on giving her the best violin teacher in the country. Sherlock, however, had other plans.

"You don't need a specialist teacher, (y/n)," he would tell you, every time that Uncle Mycroft visited. "I can teach you perfectly well myself."
"Doubtful," uncle Mycroft would mutter. Either your father ignored him, or didn't hear his comments.
However, for your first year at least, uncle Mycroft got his way and you had a professional teacher. It became clear - especially after a year of lessons - that you were unable to learn under this man.
As soon as you had a lesson with your father, you started to rapidly improve, taking grades one and two in the same year. You had the same amount of lessons, the same content that you needed to learn, though you would sometimes miss lessons due to your father's cases. Still, however, you thrived under the change of tutor.
"What made the two types of lesson so different?" your uncle Mycroft once asked, when he was told to look after you as your father worked.
"There was an underlying sense of dishonour about the other teacher," you had told him calmly, before continuing to tune your violin. "It felt that I would have misplaced trust if I stayed in lessons with him." A pause as you replaced your violin in its case. "Besides, he was trying to make me tell him about you and papa for half of each lesson."
Around a year after that conversation, the teacher was convicted of espionage against the country and abusing his position of authority over the children of high-ranking government officials. You took this as no real surprise. Your Uncle Mycroft, on the other hand, wanted to know how you had guessed.
"It was written all over him in the lessons. It was quite clever, really. Become the best teacher of violin as a cover for finding out secrets from the children. Besides," you added, after a prompt from Uncle Mycroft, "children are known to want to talk too much."
