Inis na ibinalik ni Cheska ang sarili sa pagkakaupo. She's not up for another stressful conversation ngunit mukhang wala naman siyangibang choice. She's inside the enemies' territory. Wala rin naman siyang ganang makipaglaban.

Mukhang wala rin namang balak na makipaglaban ang mga tao na nandoon.

"You are not her anymore," she said, not looking at the woman in front of her. "You are not my best friend anymore."

"Oh?" napangisi siya ng marahan. "How can you tell?"

"I was skeptical at first. I thought it was just really her dahil may rason siya para magkaganyan. That was my idea until I met Lissa. She's the answer to my question: how can you be so strong? Liam wasn't like that. She's a different level of demon, the empress of this generation. She can make you strong by giving you her blood but you are not her mortal version. Napaisip na rin doon si Brittany. "Right. She is the empress demon of this generation—the substitute of the first two demons. I only realized it now."

The only difference between the normal demons from the highest ones is that they cannot use their true form in the mortal world while the highest can.

Just like Selroz's, Nessoria's, and Ezath's situation. They cannot use their true form. While Lissa can. What she looks like now is what she really looks like.

"Realized it now?" Cheska's brows furrowed.

"I met Lissa when she's just in a form of darkness. She only showed her face to me earlier."

"Mortals who have the strongest negative emotion in their bodies could sense the existence of demons around them. Brittany saw me the moment I got closer to her. Our agreement is an invitation or permission that I can inhabit half of her body and live inside her mind."

I see. She may have already know the existence of the immortals, hindi pa rin niya gaano kaalam ang pasikot sikot sa kanila. The Founders didn't have enough time to tell her more about them.

Nagmamadali rin siya ng araw na iyon.

"So she wanted this..." paulit ulit siyang tumango, convinced. "I thought I didn't have to blame her for what happened to my mother."
