Chapter 113

"How long has it been?"

Nakatingin lang ngayon si Alijah sa kalawakan ng karagatan sa kaniyang harapan. He's standing tall in front of a glass railing, both hands are on his pockets.

Hinahangin ang kaniyang buhok at suot na itim na coat dahil na rin sa lakas ng hangin. His eyes are empty as he stares at the breathtaking scene before him.

As if it doesn't amaze him at all.

A guy is behind him, nakaupo habang nakadekwatro. One hand is above the table, caressing the body of the cup.

"A month, isn't it?" he looked at him, "A month since the second mafia war occurred."

Alijah did not answer. The amusing smile remained on the guy's lips. He averted his gaze and sipped on his tea.

Nanaig muli ang katahimikan sa kanila. He let out a sigh and his eyes wandered around. It's just the two of them. No one else.

It's their place. A hidden place where no one aisde from them knows. Doon nila naisipang magkita at magusap.

"I heard the Lees are a big mess now. The majority of them have turned their backs against the mistress," he scoffed and smirked. "It takes one death for them to do such a surprising thing huh?"

The moment he first met Cheska flashed on his mind. He can still remember how their first conversation ended. It did not end well.

He did not really care kung ano man ang kaniyang sinabi. But now that this is happening, muli niya iyong naalala.

A woman who had to become the mistress after months of returning to their family with no single idea of who she is and what is really happening...

Now, after doing what she had to do despite the injustice her situation brought her...her family turned their backs on her.

Kahit hindi niya alam ang tunay na istorya, he can tell the Cheska is not on the wrong side. Nabanggit na niya noon, he saw something different in her.

She seems promising. In his own words to Stein.

Whatever she did, she did it as the mistress and as who she is.

Hindi niya lang talaga maiwasang hindi magalit sa kaniya. There was no particular reason. He just happened to hate her.

Is it because of the blood running in his veins?

"Where is Daimler?"

The guy shrugged. "Since you passed him your title as Luchnik, wala na akong alam kung saan siya napapadpad. Asteri things."

Alijah fell silent. Pinagmasdan lang ng lalaki ang kaniyang likuran.

"Si Alzi?"

As he expected, he heard his deep sigh. Sa wakas ay gumalaw na siya sa pwesto at umupo sa kaniyang pwesto. He crossed his legs.

"He is unstoppable," he watched how the guy poured tea on his cup. "There is no way I would be able to stop him."

"If you keep on worrying about him, the least you can do is join him in this path he is taking," he leaned. "Alzimheirs is a grown-up man now. Wala ka na talagang magagawa sa gusto niyang gawin?"
