I knocked on Jessica's door that was next to my room, soon to be my old room. I just finished putting Bentley to bed after his bath. “Girl, I got to talk to you.” I stated once she opened her door.

She opened the door, allowing me in. She shut the door and came to sit next to me on her bed. “Me too. You first.”

“No, no you first” I retorted back.

A huge smile spread across her face. “So, Mike asked me to marry him.”

I jumped up and hugged her tightly. “That’s amazing! I’m so happy for you!”

“Are you going to be my maid of honor?”

I looked at her like she was stupid. “Duh, stupid!”

“Your turn!”

“I think I may be... um. Pregnant...” It sounded more like a question than a statement.

“Are you fucking serious?”

“Two weeks late serious…” I replied.

“How do you feel about it? How do you think Derrick will react? And your parents? I’m happy for you though.”

“Yesterday, Derrick surprised me after school and took me to a house. Our house, he bought us a house, Jess. Can you believe it? Then we were looking at our bedroom and he turned to me and said let’s make another baby and we did. But I’ve been thinking about it before he said anything. So I quit taking my birth control before he talked to me. I think I’m about a month pregnant. He only told me yesterday about wanting a kid. What if he changes his mind? What if he gets mad at me since I stopped taking my birth control and didn’t talk to him?” I took a deep breath after my long speech.

“Calm your ass down. I’m sure he will be happy. Talk to him about it. Everything will be fine just call him and tell him.” She paused for moment before my words registered in her head. “So, you will be moving out? Do I have to move?”

I couldn't help it, I burst out laughing. “You are a dork. I'm seriously starting to think that my parents love you more than me.” I chuckled. “No, but seriously, they love you like their own. I already talked to them about it and they would actually prefer you to stay here so they don't get too lonely.”

“It'll just be until... Well, until Mike ask me to live with him.”

“Well, however long it is, my parents will be happy to let you live here.”

“I really do appreciate all the things you and your family have done for me.” She whispered, tearfully.

“I think you might be pregnant with all that soft shit.” I chuckled before replying seriously. “For one, it your family, too. Two, I appreciate all you've done for me and Bentley. You are the true definition of the best friend and sister.”

“Aww, look at us being sweet.” She chuckled, wiping her eyes.

“Ya, this needed to be recorded or something because it doesn't happen much.” I laughed. “I got to get to bed, I have work tomorrow.”

“Goodnight; I love you sis.”

“Goodnight; I love you too.” I shut her door and walked into my room. I laid down and tried to sleep but I couldn't. I picked up my phone from the night stand and scrolled until I found my baby's name.

“Baby, it's 2:30 in the morning; what is wrong?” He asked, his voice groggily.

“Sorry, I woke you up but I can't sleep and I want to hear your voice. I miss you.”
