9 Weeks Pregnant

“Are you ready for the doctor’s appointment?” Derrick inquired.
“Yes, babe.” I answered, putting Bentley’s shoes on. I stood up with the help of Derrick. He pecked me on the lips and grabbed my hand. On the way out of my room, I looked at myself in the mirror and couldn't help but notice I’m bigger than I was when I was pregnant with Bentley around this time. “Babe, I’m big, right?” I asked, stroking my belly.
He stroked my belly, “Babe, it might just be your outfit. You are beautiful, don't worry.” He grabbed my hand and led the way out. I shook my head, trying to clear my thoughts and followed my boyfriend. The ride to the clinic was silent besides the music playing.
“Welcome Derrick and Jenny. Hello cutie,” Dr. Turner greeted us, lowering herself to Bentley. “Want to see your mommy’s baby in her tummy?” She cooed.
“Mommy ate them!?” He asked, looking innocent.
We all started chuckling, “No, baby.” I answered him.
Dr. Turner stood back up and handed Bentley a sticker and sucker, “He is really cute and smart.” She complemented.
                              “Thank you.” I smiled.
I lay on the bed and she squeezed the jelly on me, making me squirm. “They look healthy,” She stated.
                              “They!?” I choked up.
“Yep, looks to me your having twins.” She confirmed. I looked up at Derrick and he was smiling, showing his pearly whites.
“Do you have twins in your family?” I questioned, Derrick.
“Not that I know of. Do you?”
“I don't know, but I love you and excited.” I whispered.
“I love you too.” He replied, planting a soft kiss on my lips. She cleaned my stomach up and gave us some directions until my next appointment. She dismissed us and after I buckled Bentley in the car, I pulled my phone out.
“Jess, If you're not home, go home! I have some exciting news to tell you. Don’t tell my parents anything. I’ll explain when I get there. Alright, bye, I love you.” I hung up before she could say anything else.
“Mom, dad, Jess” I shouted when I walked in the house.
“Coming,” I heard my mom shout from the kitchen and my dad from the downstairs office. Jessica was already sitting down on the couch, so Bentley sat down beside her.
“Sit down. I have some news.” My mom took off her apron, sitting it down on a nearby chair.
She walked to my dad and intertwined their hands as they sat down together, “What is it sweetie?” My mom’s angelic voice boomed.
Derrick wrapped his hands from behind me, “We’re expecting twins.” He said for us.
“Oh my gosh! Congratulations, love. I’m so happy for y’all!” Jessica shouted, hugging me tightly.
                              “Can’t breathe...” I choked out.
“Sorry, just so happy.” She replied before letting me go.
“Mommy, what are twins?” Bentley asked from the couch.
“Well baby, it means you’re getting two brothers or sisters, or one of each. That means you’ll be a big brother.” I got up, sitting by Bentley.
“Will you forget about me, mommy?” He looked up with tear filled eyes.
“No, baby. I will never forget about you.” I didn’t really think of how it would affect Bentley. It brought tears to my eyes just thinking about how he would feel. “You were and will always be my first baby. No one can take that away. I love you more than you will ever know.”
