"ᴅᴀɴɢᴇʀ ᴀʀᴏᴜɴᴅ ᴇᴠᴇʀʏ ᴄᴏʀɴᴇʀ""What courses do you have today?" Jimin asked the younger. The latter did not reply. He just looked straight ahead knowing they were out in the open for anyone to see them.
Currently, the duo was on their way to the university, well, to the underground station to take the tube there. That was a lot quicker and caused a lot less nervosity. It kept them away from the busy streets where many people would crowd them. Even though the subway wasn't much better in that department, it sure was quicker. After all, Jungkook had learned that anything could hide in the crowd even though he could feel them from a mile away. It was better to get away as quickly as possible, and Jimin seemed to agree even though he didn't seem to be scared of the horrid creatures after them.
"You can just answer me. Others can see me right now," Jimin said, turning to the younger. Jungkook just looked at him with a confused expression.
"I thought no one could see you as long as I wore this?" he asked raising an eyebrow, his fingers automatically found their way to the charm around his neck.
"If I want to, yes, but right now there is no need for that. I'm just another face in the crowd anyway," Jimin explained. "Of course in your apartment that's different. I can't just keep an eye on you from the corner of your living room while being visible. Namjoon would freak out."
Jungkook couldn't help but chuckle. "What?" Jimin asked, now it was his turn to raise an eyebrow in confusion.
"Nothing, I just realised that your entire job consists of you being a creepy stalker with wings," Jungkook explained with a smile tugging at his lips. Even though they were now walking down the stairs and the light slowly dimmed down - they never worked at this station - Jimin could still see it clearly.
He thought for a second before nodding with an amused look on his face. Just seeing the younger smile caused a sense of lightness in his chest, he wasn't sure whether he could place it or not. It all felt too alien to him.
"Well, if I'm lucky it also consists of swatting demons so it's not just stalking," Jimin said at an attempt of humour. He just saw Jungkook tense up beside him. The elder wasn't sure whether it was because he had mentioned demons or because of the carriage in front of him, that was where it had started after all.
"Come on," the elder said in an encouraging tone, pulling Jungkook with him into the vehicle.
There weren't many people in the carriage since rush hour was already over. This gave them the space to sit down. The two fell down onto the uncomfortable, plastic chairs. For a few stops, there was just a comfortable silence between the two, broken every now and then by desultory banter. It was just something that made them both feel at ease.
Jungkook had never imagined getting closer to one of the monsters from his childhood, yet here he was talking to an angel about nothing and anything. And for some reason, he was completely fine with that. At least now he had the answers he had been looking for all his life. He knew he wasn't crazy, that comforted him more than anything. For the first time in what seemed like forever, he felt completely comfortable being on the tube.
Suddenly, however, the feeling was torn away by something familiar. It made Jungkook's stomach twist, aching his gut and sickening him. The feeling of warmth, not in a comfortable way but in a sticky and suffocating way; and the feeling of eyes watching him, burning in his back and into his soul; he knew what the feeling was all too well.
"Jimin," he muttered in between shallow breaths, his throat constricting. The angel turned his attention to him.
"I know, I feel it too," he said. His fingers intertwined with Jungkook's carefully. The younger wasn't sure why but it made him calm down. Normally any attempt at skinship would just feel like an intrusion of privacy, not this time. "Stay close to me," the angel commanded in a soft tone. Jungkook simply nodded.
