Conversations after that were hard. Jungkook desperately wanted to talk to Jimin, to catch up on lost time and possibly make up for the time he could still lose, but it wasn't as easy as that. With every smile towards the angel and every gleeful remark, he felt as if he was going to get punished later on, like every word was going to haunt him in the end. No matter how much he wanted to refuse, Jimin was right. They were caught in a dangerous situation and it was Jimin's duty to protect him. He was going to lose one day and not come back, and Jungkook would have to live with that.
He didn't want to. The younger could already feel the friendship, he was so glad he had built over these last few months, slip from his fingers. Jimin seemed to get him in a way no one else could. It was of course partially because he knew something no one but his mother and Namjoon knew about him, but even then it was different. His mother completely refused to talk about his gifts and Namjoon always strayed away from it, following his own way of religion rather than focussing on what Jungkook was seeing. Jimin, on the other hand, knew exactly what he was going through. He was from the same world after all. There was nothing left to hide with him, except the thoughts running around in Jungkook's head. But even those Jimin seemed to catch on to from time to time. Jungkook wasn't sure he minded.
"You should probably go eat something," Jimin spoke. Jungkook looked at the clock and simply nodded. It was weird how he sometimes got so caught up in his thoughts and the chaos around him that he forgot the simplest of things.
They slowly made their way to the kitchen, Jungkook waking up more and more with each step. A tremble went through his body every time his feet hit the floor, pressure building in his still slightly aching head. He still shuffled his feet across the floor in fatigue. Even though the sleep had helped tremendously, he still felt sluggish and just plain hurt.
By the time he had reached the counter, he had closed his eyes and let out a sigh. As he waited for his coffee to brew, Jungkook looked around and realised he could look into Namjoon's room. The younger just raised an eyebrow, taking his cup from under the machine. His roommate hardly ever left his door open, neither of them really let their doors open at night, both of them adamant on their privacy. It felt weird peeking in, almost making Jungkook feel like an intruder.
Those emotions were only strengthened when he saw Namjoon lying on his bed, Jin besides him. They were curled up, Namjoon's hand was draped over the elder's waist and their faces were incredibly close. They were both obviously still asleep, if their slow breathing and limp bodies were anything to go by. Jungkook couldn't help but let his mind wander to all interactions the two had these last few months. Now that he started looking into it, he started noticing more and more how some were a bit too friendly.
Namjoon would go anywhere Jin went, even to parties which he normally absolutely despised. Jin was also one of the only people Namjoon regularly hung out with apart from Jungkook. Whenever they were together they would attract each other like magnets, physical boundaries seeming to get slimmer and slimmer with every passing moment. Jungkook immediately shook the thoughts out of his head. There was no way he was right, Namjoon wasn't gay after all.
Even though Namjoon had no problem with gay people, he was still on the fence on whether it was a sin or not. He was devout to his beliefs and even though it didn't say so in the Bible, the fact that it was a popular belief in his community was enough to make him second-guess it. He was still respectful to anyone and everyone, realising where the reign of his beliefs ended, but he still had full power over himself. Jungkook just hoped he was wrong.
He was shaken out of his thoughts when he heard a door open, their front door to be more precise. Jungkook didn't remember leaving the door open, nor did he think Namjoon wouldn't lock it. That left only a few people capable of walking into his apartment uninvited. When he looked around he saw a familiar face, he didn't expect to see.
