His eyes were closed as softly as the sheets underneath him felt against his fingertips. He just laid there, his chest rising and falling in a steady and slow rhythm almost as if it was dancing. His heart was the instrument carrying around the beat. For a second he thought about it. The face of his partner became clear in his mind almost immediately as he thought of his heart, feeling it quicken. His pointed chin and raised cheekbones, both moulding his face into the closest thing Jungkook had ever seen to perfection. And that smile and laugh, they enchanted him. The moment he thought about it he felt a smile tug on his own lips.

The man seemed to be on his mind constantly. Haunting him, invading his thoughts without end. Jungkook opened his eyes, staring at the imperfections on the ceiling. His hesitant fingers found their way to his lips. Even though Taehyung's lips were no longer on his he could still feel them. The male was on the other side of the city, miles away from him, yet his presence seemed to linger.

It almost scared him how deeply he managed to care for the elder in such a short amount of time. Never had he fallen this hard for someone. Even though he had had crushes before, he never thought so much about someone. Taehyung was like a disease, and heart palpitations, trouble thinking straight and insomnia were the symptoms. Jungkook loved the sickness but he also feared it. He didn't know how it might end, but in a strange way, he wasn't afraid of finding out. Even when he knew it would end in heartbreak and hurt.

The atmosphere shifted, shaking him out of his trance. Jungkook sat up, looking at the angel that had appeared in his room. The elder had a dumbfounded look on his face, even though he quickly hid it behind the cold façade Jungkook was used to by now.

"Something wrong?" the human asked. The angel simply shook his head in disregard.

"I just thought you'd be asleep already," Jimin muttered. "It's quite late and you have a lecture tomorrow morning."

Jungkook glanced over at the clock on his bedside drawer. The red numbers were a cold fact, 2 AM. He needed to get up in less than six hours, being able to listen to his professor on only a few hours of sleep. Nonetheless, the younger smiled to himself.

"I didn't even notice," he said truly. This only made Jimin worry more. He knew it was because of Taehyung, there was no doubt about it. It made jealousy creep up in his heart again, he hoped a deep breath would relieve him from most of it. After what happened in Heaven earlier he wanted nothing to do with the emotion.

"Go to sleep," Jimin softly spoke. Jungkook raised an eyebrow. His tone had a weird edge to it, almost as if he was biting back what he actually wanted to say. Jimin's troubled expression was enough to worry him, but the way his aura subtly changed frightened him more.

"Only if you answer this question truthfully," Jungkook demanded. Jimin did his best to suppress a chuckle. He was only looking after the human, yet of course, Jungkook had to make it into something more. Jimin wondered whether he was only the way he was solely to make his job harder. With one glance at the younger, he decided he almost definitely was.

The way the human made him feel wasn't natural, nor desirable, it frightened him. It was as if he was forced into a freefall yet letting go only seemed like the right thing to do. As he did so anger and anxiety ran over him, all types of new emotions he previously knew under the name 'loyalty'. He had a strong suspicion that it was something way more than that, but he was too afraid to find out.

"What is it?" Jimin asked, sitting down on the desk planted against the wall.

"Will you disappear again tomorrow?" Jungkook demanded, pushing himself further towards the edge of the bed. His gaze followed the angel's movements, from the way he crossed his arms to the way he raised his shoulders and suppressed a chuckle.
