My Adventure Is A Boy Named Kota.

Chapter 22 - Old Lady Prostitution and Dejavu.

That afternoon once everybody left to go home I was left to my own devices with Lauren in the kitchen. Kota went to drop Nicole home, who passing me through the door whispered 'I won' in my ear. God I hate her.

"Hey kids, how was your day?" Mum asks as she enters the kitchen.

"Good ma, How was yours? Your home early." I say as she comes over and gives Lauren a kiss on the forehead to which she wipes off immediately.

"Well, we have this large fundraiser for the new hospital wing tomorrow night and my boss decided to let everyone go home early to rest for it." Mum says smiling. "Oh and both of you are coming." She adds.

"What? Why do we have to come?" I ask her.

"All of the donators will be at the fundraiser and we need to try and convince them to donate as much as possible for this Wing. So my boss, John, who you both have met, has asked that the two of you come and put your charm on. He says that most of these donators are rich elders who have a weak spot for young kids." She says smiling at the two of us. "So, I want you both to go shopping to buy some dresses and bring dates." She smiles again.

"Dates? What? Mum, this is going to be sooo lame." Lauren complains as she looks up from her phone.

"Wait, so let me get this straight. You want us to flirt with old men for a night for money?" I ask her.

"OMG, I'm 16 and already getting into prostitution." Lauren says dramatically.

"Hey! Its not prostitution. And there are old ladies too!" Mum adds.

"Oh! Well that makes it better, doesn't it! Do we have to go?" Lauren asks her.

"Yes you both have to go. No argument, no discussion." Mum says in a final tone.

"Great, so prostitution and child labour. My Sunday evening will be fun." I say.

"You two quit complaining. Here is some money." She says as she puts a wad of cash in my hand. "Now why don't you go get some nice dresses from the mall before the shops close." She finishes before smiling at the both of us and heading up to her room.

Lauren turns to me with a mad look, "This blows." She says.

"Indeed it does sister."

Three hours and 10 dress shops later Lauren and I finally finally were able to come home with our outfits in hands.

When I say 10 shops I mean, I picked out my dress the first shop and Lauren picked hers in the last.

Walking through the front door we find that whilst I was in hell listening to Lauren say stuff like 'this dress isn't my colour' or 'this one makes my nose look big'. Mum was at home having tea and cake with Marie Rivers.

"Finn, Lauren! So good to see you girls again. I take it your mum told you about the banquet?" Marie asks from the kitchen bench.

"Yes Ms Rivers, we just bought our dresses. Are you going?" Lauren asks her.

"Please, call me Marie. And yes I am your mothers hot date." She says winking at mum causing them both to laugh. Of course she's coming, Marie worked as something financial at the same hospital.

"Oh yes, and that made us think Finn, why don't you take Kota as your date? Both of you need to go anyway, and you two have been getting along a lot recently." Mum says smiling at me.

"Oh mum, I don't know about that, I'm sure Kota would want to take someone els-"

"Kota actually came up with the idea. He'd love to go with you." Marie says smiling.
