"Hey Finn, you're going to have to wake up. I made breakfast for you downstairs." Willow said to me from the other side of her room the next morning.I was awake, in fact I had been awake all night. Kota and Ben had occupied all of my thoughts and there was absolutely nothing I could do about it. I wished for nothing more than to stop hurting but I couldn't even think of where to start.
"I'm not hungry." I mutter from my cocoon of bed covers.
"You didn't eat dinner last night, you have to be hungry."
But I wasn't and it was an odd sensation, because I was always hungry.
"I know what you're going through is awful right now Finn, I think you need to talk to Kota. We can't trust what Peter says. It might not all be tru-" Willow begins as she sits on the bed next to me.
"Kota admitted it Willow, he said it's what happened." I reply sitting up.
"He used me like a game, so that other boys could sleep with me. How is that right?"
She looks down at this, understanding that the situation I was in was a tough one.
"And, what about Ben?" She asks me "He's been your Friend since before you could remember."
I sigh at this. "What he did was wrong. He's not my body guard, he's my friend, practically my brother. For years I've watched him go through some awful girI's, and said nothing."
Willow looks down at her twiddling thumbs at this. "I'm upset with him too Finn, but I know how he feels. If anything hurt either of you two, and I knew a way to prevent it from happening, I would. He just went too far with it, and if he's willing to accept what he did was wrong, you need to accept that everything he did was for you."
"I said some awful things to him yesterday, I don't even know if we can make a comeback from this." I say.
"Why don't you just come down for breakfast and we can talk about it over pancakes." She smiles.
I nod and follow her to the kitchen.
When I enter the living room I see Ben sitting on the couch nervously tapping his leg. Hearing us enter he jolts his gaze to me and stands.
I notice that he's sporting a bruised jaw presumably from one of Kota's famous left hooks.
"Finn. Listen, I know I messed up. But -"
Before he can even finish my arms are around his neck in a tight embrace.
His reaction was slow but soon enough his arms wrap around my back as he hugs me.
"I'm so sorry Finn." He says softly.
I nod my head in return. "I know."
We spent the morning talking, just us three. Ben explained everything, he said that sometime last year he heard the team discussing which girls they wanted to screw by the end of Highschool. When he heard mine and Willows name, he made us off limits. The ban was specifically for the football team, but once everyone found out they were too afraid to cross him.
Ben didn't know about Kota's deal with the team.
When Kota arrived to school, Ben thought he had no idea about me being off limits. And decided not to tell him because of how happy he saw me with him. Raven knew about it but asked me out anyway before Ben could do anything about it.
The whole situation was one giant mess and I was stuck in the middle, completely clueless.
I knew only two things. That eventually I would have to listen to Kota's side of the story, and that I was absolutely, utterly dreading it.
