"Honey I'm Home!" I call as I enter the house.
"Honey no one cares!" I hear Lauren's reply as I walk into the kitchen. She and mum are at the kitchen sink leaning to look out the window at our neighbours house. The house has been empty for years.
Whoever designed it also designed our house as they are the exactly the same only flipped. The architect did a piss poor job of it as my bedroom window is mere metres from the bedroom window of the other house. The last family that lived in that house put their grandfather in that room and believe me I am still scarred by what I saw.
That man never closed his curtains and loved walking around naked. So..much....skin. I shiver at the thought of it as I join my sister and mum.
"What are you two doing?" I ask.
"Shh." Lauren hushes me. "New neighbours."
I look out the window to see a moving vehicle on the driveway and a car in front of it. Weird how I didn't see it when Ben dropped me off. Though I was engrossed in Ben and Willows argument over whether Vampires or werewolves were better. Werewolves DUH! Have you not seen Teen wolf?
Getting back to the now I see a woman around my mums age walk down the front porch steps to pay the driver of the rental mover vehicle. She looks very pretty with black hair pulled to a bun at the nape of her neck and fair skin, she is also carrying a small girl on her hip with dark hair pulled into pigtails. Soon realising that we are spying I pull away from the window.
"She looks nice. It would be nice to have a friend around here." Mum says also pulling away from the window. I smile at that. Mum works at the hospital as a doctor so she doesn't get out much or have many friends all she does is work and sleep.
I grab a snack from the fridge and head up to my room, throwing my bag down and changing into comfortable running shorts and a singlet. I then grab my laptop to start my homework. I know I am such a nerd, but honestly I don't really mind that much.
Or I didn't until that turd face today called me one. I just like keeping to myself a lot, and schoolwork provides good distractions.
I start my English homework only to be interrupted an hour in by loud music coming from the room next to mine. I try to push it out of my mind but with no avail. I quickly stand up and march over to my window to give them a piece of my mind when I suddenly stand shocked.
In the room directly across from stands none other than Kota Rivers. He stands there with his arms across his chest staring at me, judging by the smirk on his face, he must have seen me doing my schoolwork knowing this room was mine and the music was deliberate. I on the other hand am shocked.
"You!" I say pointing to him.
"Howdy Neighbour" He says his voice is deep and holds amusement as he pulls his phone out of his pocket and pauses his music.
"What are you doing here?" I ask, already knowing the answer.
"Well I live here Greenie." Greenie? What!
"Tell me you are joking."
"Fortunately for you I am not." He winks and moves forward to put his hands on his window sill. Is he flirting with me? Really? Doing this action makes his muscles bulge from under his white short sleeved shirt it also makes me notice his tattoos for the first time. One large tattoo on each arm.
"I must have some bad Karma." I mutter under my breath. "Just keep the music down please." I respond trying to be civil. Obviously hearing every word he smirks yet again showing off his dimples. OH heaven almighty.
"Whats your name?" He asks not taking the hint that I need to do work.
"Why do you need to know?" I respond, crossing my arms over my chest.
"Well as you so eloquently put it at school, I need to find some manners and learn the basics." He uses his fingers as quotation marks around that.
"My name's none of your business" I respond with a glare.
"Okay, whatever you say Finn Elliot, don't tell me your name." He says trying not to laugh at my shock.
"How the hell do you know my name?!" I say stepping forward to put my own hands on my window sill.
"It's a small school, all I had to do was ask the first stranger."
I huff in annoyance.
"Don't you want to know my name?" He asks cockily.
"No I certainly do not and it has not been a pleasure." Deciding that I was done with this conversation I step back and close my curtains only to hear him laughing behind them.
I spend the rest of the night wearing earphones and trying to block out Kota's music, even though he does have really good music taste, I don't think 12:00 at night is a good time to blast Blink-182, Especially when I'm trying to sleep. The whole night is spent with a pillow over my head. But by the morning I had hardly slept at all.
Stupid Kota fricken Rivers. Playing his stupid good music all night and singing along to it. Let me tell you that boy will never be a famous singer. DARNIT this boy is ruining everything.
