"Hey have you guys seen Finn." I ask going up to Willow and the rest of them.
"She's not back yet?" Ben asks. "I thought she was with you. She went to the bathroom 15 minutes ago."
"No I haven't seen her." I reply skeptically. "Where did she go?"
"Towards the S block bathrooms." Willow replies. "I'll come with you." She says getting up and kissing Ben on the cheek, following me out the auditorium.
"Where the fucks the S block bathrooms again?" I ask as we walk down the dark hallways.
"I almost forgot how little you pay attention at school." Willow laughs as we continue walking.
"Well its a good thing I'm coming with you then, because otherwise you would have gotten los- Kota?" She asks.
But I'd stopped in my tracks next to one of the lockers. On the floor in front of me lay Finns blue bracelet that I had given to her months ago. As I bend down to pick it up I could see that it was broken and a few of the beads had fallen off and scattered across the other side of the hallway.
My immediate thought led to panic. But I knew there was most likely a logical explanation. It had probably fallen off as she was walking, But then why was there beads on the other side of the hallway if it had simply dropped? Wouldn't she have noticed it dropped and picked it up?
"Is that Finns?" Willow asks coming up next to me.
"Willow, take me to the bathrooms." I say walking a faster pace then normal with Willow trying to keep up.
"It's just up here" She says huffing from the quickened pace. "Take a left, and they are just up here on the right." She says as I see the womens sign.
"Let me go in-Kota for fucks-"
But I cut her off and walked right into the girls bathroom without the slightest care finding it completely empty.
"Kota, jesus what if someone was peeing." Willow says coming in after me.
"Where is she?" I ask, my heart rate rising.
"Let's just go back to the auditorium and find her, she probably just went to another bathroom or got lost or something." Willow says.
As we make it back to the auditorium, I walk around the sea of people to try find the familiar head of brown hair, but coming up with nothing.
"Well she's gotta be here somewhere" Corey says back at the table.
"Lauren went to the other bathrooms and Leif and Dylan went to look outside. No one can find her anywhere."
"Are you guys looking for Finn? Do you want an extra pair of eyes?" I hear Nicole come up and stand next to me.
"How did you even know she was missing?" Ben asks.
"I-uh" She stutters. "I was eaves dropping sorry."
"Go away Nicole. I heard about your little apology to Finn. And I don't buy a word of that shit, so if you think for one second-" Willow starts.
"Let her help." I say surprising everyone including myself. Usually I wouldn't let Nicole go near Finn again with a ten foot pole, but her apology seemed genuine and her humble behaviour since has been a clear indication that she wants to change. "The more eyes the better. We just need to find her."
"She's not anywhere outside or near the carpark." Dylan says coming up to us with Leif.
"She's not in the other bathrooms either." Lauren pants arriving at the same time.
"Well where the fuck is she." Ben says. "She couldn't have gone far."
My breathing starts getting shaky as I take the bracelet out of my pocket and look at it thinking the worst. My eyes keep darting around the room, but some part of me knows that she won't be there. Something has happened.
Thinking over every possible scenario in my head, I start panicking as I run my hands down my face trying to stay calm.
"Willow, I have all the stuff you asked for." A small freshman girl says standing next to Willow holding a cardboard box.
"Yeah not now Jenny, just make sure theres 365 tickets and leave it next to the table." She says shooing her off.
"There are only 364 tickets." Jenny replies sparking my interest.
"What? 364? Who the fuck didn't come?" Willow snaps as Jenny shrugs and walks away.
"It's the senior prom for Pete's sakes, What idiot would buy a ticket and not come?"
I then slowly turn my gaze to look at Nicole, and Ben seems to get the same idea as we both stare at her. Standing by herself twiddling her thumbs in a black dress.
"Nicole, who did you bring as your date?" Ben asks making everyone turn to her.
"Oh my date bailed last minute, I came by myself." Piecing it together, my heart stops as I mutter a single word that catches the ear of everyone standing around me.
"Raven."
