Chapter 19 - Pt 2 Of The Infamous Letterman Jacket and First Kisses.

The rest of the week flashed by and soon enough, Friday came, the day of the game against Cornwall. The entire school was buzzing with excitement as everyone was looking forward to supporting our schools team to victory. Well almost everyone.

"I can't believe you're not going to come tonight Kota. Everyone is coming, and I am cheerleading so we are bound to win." Says Willow shaking her head at Kota who is sitting across the table from her in the cafeteria.

"I'm sorry Willow, I just have other plans on, besides its really not my thing." Kota says as he lazily rests his feet on the chair next to him.

"Well I am excited for the game." Raven pipes up. "Your still coming right?" He asks turning to me. I nod at this and smile up at him as he grabs my hand. Turning to Kota I see him rolling his eyes at Raven.

Since Wednesday, Kota and Raven have tried to get along more, and when I say try I mean, Raven has mostly ignored Kota's glares and Kota hasn't punched Raven....yet.

I look down at our entwined hands and see my bracelet and smile to myself. It really is pretty. I'm not a girly girl so I don't really go for the expensive sparkly stuff. Its perfect.

"Seriously Corey, you haven't quit typing on your phone the past three days. Who the hell are you texting." Leif asks Corey who is currently engrossed in his phone with his back hunched over.

"No one, shut up Leif." Says Corey looking up from his phone.

"So is no one the reason you turned down Stacey Cartwright in math?" Asked Ben between mouthfuls of food. "You guys should have seen it, She was all like 'I love you Corey, marry me.'" Ben said in the most girly voice possible. "And Corey was like 'Nah bitch, move on.' It was hilarious."

We all burst out laughing at the visual of Nicole's favourite minion getting turned down by Corey.

"Her perfume was making my eyes water, what was I supposed to say." Corey says throwing his arms up in exasperation causing us all to look over at Stacey seated at Nicole's table where she was currently staring at Corey with a sad look.

It came as a surprise to me that Corey turned down Stacey, next to Ben and Kota he was one of the large players at this school and Stacey was one of the easier girls to...let's just say do the frickity frack with.

However even Ben hasn't been getting with any girls recently, even Kota, minus the few odd one or two, including that toad from the parking lot the other day. None of the three major players at school have been doing their usual hoeing around. What is happening to this school?

Walking on to the field that night flanked by Lauren, I immediately notice the chilly wind on my naked arms. Drat, I knew I should have brought a jacket.

Looking around the space I see the grandstands almost entirely filled up with teenagers all talking and excited for the game about to start. In front of the grandstands sit a bench currently occupied by Ben, Leif, Raven and the rest of the football team. Standing next to the bench is the cheerleading team with Willow currently running through a drill with them.

My eye suddenly catches Ravens who is making his way over to us.

"Hey Lauren, Finn." He says then hugs me. "Aren't you cold?" He asks, looking down to me.

"A bit, but I'm fine." I say whilst he shrugs off his letterman jacket and hangs it over my shoulders. "Thanks." I say smiling up at him and embracing the warmth of the jacket.

"Hey guys!" We hear to our right seeing Willow bound over in her cheerleading costume. "You all excited for the game?" She asks.

"Hell yeah. This is going to be a rough game though, those Cornwall players are ruthless." Raven says smiling. "Anyway I better get back before Coach rips me apart. Cheer for me?" He asks turning to me.

I nod at this and give him a thumbs up to which he smiles at and runs back to the bench. Man he looks cute in his football uniform.

"Damn, that boy has a fine behind." Says Lauren wolf whistling at Raven. "Ohh so does that one, and that on-"

"I,2,3,4 My name is Lauren and I'm a whor-" Willow begins cheering

"Alright Cowboy, why don't you save your cheering for the field." Lauren says causing Willow to smirk at her and walk towards the rest of her very energetic cheerleaders.

As Lauren and I walk up the stairs on the grandstand I get a few dirty looks from girls when they see my letterman jacket. Even though Raven is new, he's already gotten the girls attention, and I don't think too many people are happy that I'm friends with the hottest guys in school and dating one of them. Soon enough we come across a familiar face.

"Hey Lauren, Hey Finn. Wanna sit with me? I have snacks." Corey smiles at us holding up a bowl of hot chips.

"Ohh yes please." Lauren answers sliding next to him and grabbing a chip whilst giving him a toothy grin.

"Nice Jacket Finn." Says Corey winking at me making me poke my tongue out at him.

The whistle sounds as the crowd starts cheering and the game starts. Almost immediately, Leif is tackled to the ground. Raven was right about this being a rough game.

The crowd boos at this, but Leif quickly gets up and goes back to his position.

As the game progresses, it seems more and more people on our team are getting hurt, Including Peter who bawls his eyes out and has to be carried off the field. Serves him right, jerk face.

At half time, the cheerleaders gather on the field as Willow stands front and centre. She is tossed several times in the air and does an excellent job at head cheerleader.

Ben plays amazingly and you can tell that the entire team looks up to him as their captain. Lauren, Corey and I scream every time either Ben, Leif or Raven has the ball and cheer like lunatics when any one of them scores. With 30 seconds left on the board, the game is left in a draw, every student in the stands sit on the edge of their seats as they wait for the final goal to determine the win.

Suddenly Raven gets hold of the ball and you can tell as he looks around he's trying to decide what to do. He spots Ben as he quickly pelts the ball through the air, Ben easily catches it and runs to score a try just as the final buzzer rings. The crowd goes insane as everyone jumps up screaming and running on the field.

Willow and the rest of the cheerleading team are some of the first to greet the players as she runs and jumps up in Ben's open arms. He turns her around with a goofy smile as she screams and laughs.

As we near the centre of the crowd, I lose the sight of Ben, Willow and Raven as they are swamped by people. I stand there turning around trying to locate my friends when suddenly I catch eyes with Raven smiling at me through the crowd. I smile back as I run and jump into his arms, wrapping my arms around his neck and lifting my feet off the ground. I pull back to say congratulations when suddenly his lips are on mine and he's pulling me in for a deep kiss. I smile as I kiss Raven back, lowering my legs so my toes touch the floor and running my fingers through his dark locks. I feel his smile as he registers that I am kissing him back and after a moment we both pull away to breathe for air. It registers to me that a few people have witnessed our kiss and are currently patting Raven on the back and whistling at the two of us.

"You played amazing." I say ignoring the round of applause for the two of us.

"If thats the reward for playing amazingly, then I think coach will cut my practices short." He says smiling and pulling away to see me entirely. Giving me one last peck on the lips he grabs my hand as we weave through the fields to find the rest of our friends.

As I look over to the edge of the field next to the carpark I see a retreating back... wearing a dark leather jacket.
