"Thank you" I respond.

"See you in surgery, Dr. Sloan."

Piper's POV

I press the down button for the elevator, trying to get to the OR's.

"Why hello again." I hear someone say from behind me.

I turn around and see it is Ellis.

"I just can't get rid of you can I?" I say, laughing.

"I am quite hard to get rid of I heard." She adds.

"Where do you need to go?" I ask, as we both walk into the elevator.

"OR, little girl that has a tumor mass on her liver, we are doing a transplant. What about you?" she asks.

"Young adult, heart failure. It sucks, she is in her early twenties, but she already has heart faliure." I say, shaking my head.

Ellis says nothing, because she knows there is nothing she can say. After our conversation we start to put up our hair.

"I wish you the best of luck in surgery." she says, finishing up her bun then walking out of the elevator.

"You too!" I call out.

I get out of the elevator, then add the finishing touches to my hair, making sure there are no strands that I missed.

I continue on to OR 2, then walk into the scrub room. Right away I am greeted by Dr. Yang.
"Dr. Sloan, are you ready for this?" she asks me, scrubbing down on her hands.

"Yes" I reply, grabbing soap and then starting to scrub.

"We are gonna have to work fast, bu-" she says before I cut her off.

"Fast but smooth, we make one wrong move and this whole surgery goes to waste, and we will loose the patient." I finish.

"Someone has been doing their research." She says, walking into the OR.

I continue on scrubbing my hands, then I walk into the OR. They quickly put the gloves onto my hand, and I take my place to next to Dr. Yang.

"Ready to begin?" she asks.

"Yes." I respond.

She opens up the chest, and starts working on the heart.

"Take a look at this." she says.

I look over and I see the tumor. It is no bigger than a quarter, but it still has done so much damage.

"Would you like to help me get it out Dr. Sloan?" she asks me.

I nod my head, and help her take the tumor out of her heart.

"I took a tumor out of a heart today!" I squeal to Ellis.

"Good for you, I helped save a kids leg today." Ellis tells me.

We are in the residents lounge, changing out of our scrubs.

"How did that happen?" I ask.

"Car accident, his leg got pinned under car, and they thought they would have to amputate it, but Torres, Karev, and I saved it." she gloats.

"Thats cool, but I still can't freaking believe that I did that!" I say, as we start walking towards the car.

"Yeah yeah" she says, texting on her phone.

"Daniel?" I ask.

"How did you know?" she asks, sarcastically.

"Ha ha, very funny" I say, rolling my eyes playfully.

I press the down button on the elevator, and we hope inside. Right as the door is about to close, two men walk into the elevator. I look down at the floor, and I see them not pressing any buttons.

I shuffle my feet underneath me, and the elevator keeps dinging because of the going down on the floors. Finally it stops, and the doors open. Ellis and I make our way towards the parking lot, the two men still following us. I pick up speed, and I see Ellis notice them too, and she starts speeding up.

"Who are they?" she whispers to me, not looking back at the men still following us.

"I don't know, but they are freaking me out." I say.

We finally make it to the car, the two men still walking. I let out a breath, not seeing the men in my sight anymore. All I can think about is my EX, and I know that Ellis is probably thinking the same thing too.

Before I can fully open the car door, someone's hand wraps around my mouth.

"Don't say a word" he whispers into my ear.

I look over and see that Ellis is in the same situation as me, but then I notice something about the man.

I look in the mirror on my side, and see him.
