IMPORTANT A/N AT THE END.

Piper's POV

"Charge to 150!" Meredith yells.

We are in the OR right now with the patient but she won't stop coding long enough for us to get anything done.

"We need to find out what the hell is happening, otherwise this girl is gonna die!" Meredith yells.

We are all getting frustrated, but now is not the time to get angry at one another. It takes a few more charges to finally get the girl back.

"Okay, let's get this done really quick so Dr. Yang can fix her heart." Meredith says.

We all nod our heads and wait for Dr. Yang to get what she needs done. Nothing can be done without her fixing her aorta, which was damaged during the accident. It takes her about ten minutes before she finally looks up.

"Get to work." she says.

We all nod our heads, and Meredith starts cutting open her chest. Christina rushes out of the OR because her work is needed somewhere else.

"Okay, Dr. Grey. I am going to need you to hold this, and you cannot move or this girl will die, do you understand?" Meredith says, looking at me.

I nod my head, taking the tool from her hand.

"Okay, stay there, I need to find the source of this damn bleed before she starts coding again.

She starts searching around the cavity while I focus on my hand, making sure it doesn't even move an inch.

"Damn it!" she says, getting frustrated.

She keeps looking around, until she stops.

"Found it!" she says, joy in her voice.

"Okay, Dr. Grey I need you to grab another one of these from the nurse and your are going to help me stop the bleeding so I can make sure she doesn't have permanent damage, understand?" she says.

I nod my head, grabbing the right tool from the nurse, and carefully placing it where she told me too.

"Okay good, now let me get what I need, make sure you don't move." she says.

The scrub nurse starts handing her the tools she needs, and I make sure that my hand isn't shaking again.

"Okay, when I say go, you need to bring it up because I am gonna get to work." she says, looking up to me.

"Got it." I say.

Making sure she has everything, I pray that she hurries up because I don't know how much longer I can keep it going without shaking.

"Okay, ready?" she starts.

"GO!" she says.

I quickly take the tools and my hands out of the way, and she gets to work. I hand them to the nurse right besides me and she takes them from me.

"Good job, Dr. Grey. You have fast hands." she compliments me.

"Thank you." I respond.

"If you can close up after I am done with this, it would be appreciated." Meredith says.

"I got it Dr. Grey." I say.

"Good, because I am... finished!" she says.

She gives her tools to the scrub nurse, and she starts heading out of the OR. I then take control, ordering for the tools, and closing the open chest that is currently laying in front of me.

After I close up the young girl, they wheel her up to recovery. I let out a sigh, but head to the elevator knowing that there is going to be more help needed. I quickly get up there, and it is still hectic, but not as bad as when I first got here.

"How did it go?" Meredith asks as I come next to her.

"Good, she is in recovery." I say.

"That's great, you did a good job in there." she says.

I nod my head, responding with a thank you.

"I think Derek could use your help in OR 3 if you want to go help him." Meredith says.

"Okay, I will head down there." I respond.

I head back down to the OR and go into the scrub room. I look through the window, and I see the patient is flatlined, and they are standing back from the body.

"Damn." I say, shaking my head.

The patient looks young too, and I wonder how something so awful could happen to people who are so young and pure. Derek makes his way to the scrub room, and sees me.

"What are you doing here?" he asks, washing his hands.

"Meredith said to come down and see if you needed help, but.." I say.

"Oh, yeah. It sucks, he was so young, I think his chart said he was twelve."

"Thats awful." I respond, shaking my head.

"Yeah, I don't know how this could happen to some people. But it does, and we win some and we loose some." he responds to me.

"That's the only thing that sucks about this job." I say.

"Your telling me kiddo." he says, wiping his hands off.

"Let's head upstairs, I think they are going to be needing hands."

I nod my head and we head back upstairs into the hectic mess.
