Ellis's POV

Sitting. I never thought it would be this tiring, but it is. I feel like everything is slowly fading away and theres nothing I can do about it. Sitting there in silence is one of the worst things you can do, and now I know what it feels like when we keep family members in the dark about the patient. And it sucks.

"Piper Sloan?" A nurse calls out.

About half of us stand up Lexie, Mark, and I the first ones to get there.

"We can go talk in the conference room." she says.

I let out a shaky sigh and we all follow, including Noah. When we get to the conference room Bailey and Yang are standing at the head of the table.

"Sit down." Bailey says, the sad present in her eyes.

"What's wrong with her." I ask.

"Please, sit down Dr. Grey." Bailey says.

I decide to listen and take a seat next to Daniel who is here for moral support on my side. I take his hand, and he gives it a squeeze.

"Piper is going to be alright," Bailey starts and we all let out breaths of relief, "But. She has something wrong with her heart, a murmur. That is why Dr. Yang is here."

Lexie starts crying and Mark takes her into his arms and they both hug, tears going down their face.

"What the hell can we do then?" I speak up.

"Well we can go in and see what is causing it, or just run some more tests and then risk it happening again." Cristina explains.

"Can we give her some time to rest, I mean she needs some time." Mark chokes out.

"Of course, you can take some time. But I need to know by tomorrow." Cristina says.

She gives everyone a sad look before heading out and going with my mom. I let out another shaky breath and I see Carter over by his parents now and they are all talking. Daniel looks at me with sad eyes and Noah just sits there, expressionless.

"Noah, are you okay?" I ask, leaning over.

He jolts his body back, and I look at him with wide eyes. He pushes his chair back with force and rushes out the door, letting it slam behind him. Daniel looks shocked as well as Lexie and Mark. I get up, going after him.

"Noah!" I yell, catching up to him.

"Not now Ellis!" he yells back.

"Yes now! You can't run away, not right now." I say to him.

"I am not running away, okay. I just need to time to myself." he says.

"You don't think that she is gonna want to see you?" I ask, getting angry.

"She needs you, her parents." he says, turning back around.

"Don't you dare turn around, not right now." I yell at him.

He faces me again, and looks down to the ground.

"I can't loose her Ellis, I can't." he says, sobbing.

I give him a sad look before hugging him.

"I know. I know more than anyone right now, okay?" I say, trying to sooth him.

He hugs me back and we both cry in the middle of the hospital hallway. Of course we get a ton of weird looks, but we keep it up. After a couple minutes we both let go and head to Piper's room. When we get there, Mark and Lexie are in there, along with Carter.

"So what are we gonna do?" I hear Piper's weak voice ask.

"I don't know, it all depends what you wanna do sweetie." Lexie explains with a soft voice.

"I need to think about it. Do you know where Noah or Ellis is?" she asks.

"Uh, no actual-" Mark starts but we walk in.

"Piper, oh my god." I say, rushing to her side.

"Ellis, I am sorry." she starts. "No I am sorry, I was being a bitch and I shouldn't have taken it out on you." I say.

"It's fine, where good." she says, smiling at me.

"I'm glad to hear that." I say, giving her a hug.

She hugs back and when I step away, Noah takes my place. I decide to give them some space and follow Mark and Lexie out.

"Hey Ellis." Lexie says, giving me a sad smile.

"Hey Lex." I say, giving her one in return.

"I was wondering if it was alright if Piper came to live with us for a bit, at least until this whole heart thing is over with." she asks.

"That's not up to me, you should really ask her." I say.

"I will, I just want to make sure that you will be okay." she says to me.

"Yeah, no, well I mean I will be okay. I'll have Daniel come stay with me if I really need something." I say to them.

"That's good. Now it's just to get her to say yes." Mark says.

"She is kinda stubborn." I point out.

"A little?" Mark asks, making us all laugh.

"How is she?" My mom asks, coming out of nowhere.

"Good, at least right now. She is going to tell us what she wants tomorrow." Lexie says.

"Hopefully she will be okay. I have a feeling she will be though. Us Grey's are fighters." my mom says, making us all smile.

"Damn right you are." Mark says, grabbing Lexie by the waist and pulling her close.
