"So much for taking it slow." I hear Ellis say, coming into the lounge.

I laugh, and we both start changing into our scrubs.

Piper's POV

We quickly get changed and we run down to the OR's.

"See you after." Ellis says breaking away heading to OR 1.

I nod my head and run into the scrub room, putting on a mask, then heading straight to the sinks. I see that Yang is already operating and that she has her hands in the wound. I quickly, but carefully, scrub up then walk in the OR.

"Gloves and gown please." I say, as a nurse comes up.

She puts on my gloves and gown and a rush over to the other side of Dr. Yang.

"Glad to see you here." Dr. Yang says clamping a bleeding artery.

"Hold the clamp while I try and find this damn bullet." she says handing me the clamp.

I take ahold of the clamp as she looks around for the bullet.

"Damn it!" she says.

"Its in-between the Pulmonary artery and Pulmonary veins." she says.

"We need another clamp." she says to the nurse.

"Okay, Dr. Sloan I need you to pass that clamp off because I need you." she says.

I nod my head and pass the clamp over to the nurse next to me.

"Okay, take the clamp and clamp off this artery, okay?" she says looking up at me.

"You understand, correct?" she asks.

I nod my head, as she hands me the clamp.

"You need to keep steady because if you move I will move which will cause the bullet to get logged deeper, and we know what will happen then." she says.

"Got it." I say.

I slowly put the clamp into place, making sure not to move an inch. Dr. Yang starts to move deeper in the cavity trying to un-lodge the bullet.

"Okay I have the bullet, I am taking it out, don't move." she says, looking at me.

"I won't move" I say, holding still.

"3" she starts.

"2"

"1!" she says, successfully getting the bullet out of place.

"We need to make sure there are no more bleeders then we can close up and get to the other victims." she says, checking the wound.

"Got it." I say, unclamping, and letting her stitch up the bleeder.

"Okay, that is the only one, close up please Dr. Sloan." she says.

"Got it." I say, getting the right equipment and starting to close.

It doesn't take long before she is closed up and is headed up to recovery.

"Okay, do we know if the parents are here?" I ask.

"Yeah, they are in the lobby." one of the nurses says.

"Okay, I will go inform them, make sure she is okay." I say, scrubbing out.

I throw the gloves and gown into the trash, and I make my way to the waiting room.

"Who is here for Tracey Mills?" I ask.

All of a sudden a man and women rush over to me, and both are crying.

"Where is she? She is our daughter, is she okay?" the women says frantically.

"Ma'am your daughter is fine, she is in recovery." they breath out, and they start crying but not sadly anymore.

"Thank you!" they say over and over again.

"I will have this nurse take you guys up okay?" I say, passing them off to the nurse.

I hear them say thank you again, and I head back over to the ER.

"Dr. Sloan, I need you back over here!" Dr. Karev says waving me over.

I see there is blood everywhere, and they are taking the patient to the nearest trauma room. I run into the room, and right away I know it is going to be a very long night.
