Chapter Nine

Jax stood with his arms crossed over his chest appalled that Harlow would put a gun that he didn't know about on the island and tell him to shoot her

"What are you scared?" Harlow asked

Jax took a deep breath, he wasn't scared. He had shot many of people but shooting someone he loved was a different story "I'm not scared"

"Then pick it up and shoot me between the eyes, quick and painless" Harlow said

"You're not scared to die?" Jax asked

"I did twice, I'm not scared anymore Jax. If its my time its my time but you better tell all four of those kids that I love them every single day" Harlow said as she slowly watched Jax pick up the loaded gun

Harlow closed her eyes knowing Jax's large hand was wrapped around the handle of the gun his finger on the trigger, she was ready. She knew that she betrayed her husband the first rule as an old lady is never betray your husband and she did. In more ways then one.

"Open your eyes" Jax said

Harlow opened her eyes expecting to see a gun pointed in her face but she was met face to face with Jax, his lips so close she could feel his breath on her lips

"I cant shoot you" Jax whispered

"Yes you can I deserve it" Harlow said

"I couldn't agree with you more, but I can't." Jax said

"Why not? You said you weren't scared" Harlow said

Jax closed his eyes memories flooding back over the last five years "Because I just can't."

Harlow heard a small cry coming from one of the bedrooms she knew it was Jason, Jax stood over her like a spell she wasn't able to move

"Jax I need to get him before he wakes the whole house up" Harlow said

"You and I aren't finished" Jax said stepping aside

Harlow walked quickly back to the boys bedroom and picked up Jason and rocked him back to sleep, after laying him back down Harlow walked out of the boys room and saw Jax standing there

Jax took Harlow's hand and led her to the bedroom, Harlow's brow furrowed as she didn't understand what was going on

"Pack you're things. You are leaving" Jax said

"What do you mean?" Harlow asked

"Pack your shit and get out of my house" Jax said grabbing a duffel bag from the closet

"Jax please don't do this" Harlow begged

Jax scoffed at her as he tossed the bag at her "You don't get to chose, this is you're only option now pack up and leave" Jax said

"Baby please" Harlow asked

Jax stood with his arms over his chest, as hard as it was for her to leave it was just as hard for him to tell her to go

"Don't make this any harder then it needs to be, pack your shit Harlow" Jax said raising his voice slightly

Harlow opened her dresser drawers and began placing a few items in her bag

"All of it" Jax said

"Jax please don't do this" Harlow said looking at him

"Don't, you did this remember that" Jax said

It took Harlow a few minutes to fit whatever she could inside of the duffel bag that Jax gave her, grabbing their picture from the city hall she walked over to her bag

Jax snatched it out of her hands "Nope, that isn't going with you"

"Why not?" Harlow asked

"Because I said you werent taking it. You don't get to look and see how happy we were, you dont get that choice. now get out" Jax said

"I need to pack bags for the kids" Harlow said walking towards the hall but was stopped by Jax

"They aren't going anywhere" Jax said

"Excuse me?" Harlow asked

"Only you are leaving, I dont care where you go but its far away from us, you can come to this house once a week to see the kids and that is it." Jax said

"Those are my kids Jax you cant do this to them" Harlow cried

"Remember that when you were the one who took off for a month, now im thinking that it was all just a game for you. That you knew the whole time" Jax said

Harlow slapped Jax hard across the face

"This was never a game to me Jax, it was all real everything about you and me. Why do you think that I was still here? I didnt want to arrest you I stopped trying to snoop my way in once I had feelings for you. I knew I was already in too deep. Maybe I should have just died when I overdosed" Harlow said

"Maybe you should have" Jax said

Harlow grabbed her duffel bag and headed towards the door, everything playing over in her head as where she went wrong and how Aaron found out about her investigation against Samcro since the field office wasnt even in California

Harlow turned around and looked at her husband he looked hurt and it was her fault, he looked sad and that was her fault too. She knew she was in too deep and should of gotten out a long time ago but the heart wants what the heart wants "I always loved you. This was more then just a job, this is my life Jackson you are my life and you always will be"

Jax crossed his arms over his chest, his heart was torn but he knew it was for the best that Harlow leave. He wasnt sure what he was going to tell everyone but he needed to think of something because once everyone knew she was a federal agent her head would have a price on it. He may hate her for what she had done but he didn't want to punish the kids by having thier mother murdered

"I'm so sorry Jax, I'm sorry I hurt you. Im sorry I lied to you and hid this from you. but i did it because you are the meaning of true love. And I hope you find it again some day. Please tell my kids i love them" Harlow cried

"I need my rings back" Jax said as much as it killed him

Harlow looked down at her wedding rings she slowly slid them off and placed them in Jax's hand watching as he closed his fist tightly around them

"I'm going to make this easier for you. You won't ever see me again" Harlow said

"What about the kids" Jax asked

"They don't deserve me as thier mother. Take care of them Jax, take care of yourself. I'll have my lawyer draw up the papers necessary then you and I will never exist again" Harlow said trying her hardest not to cry

"One thing you were was an amazing mother" Jax said his heart breaking as he knew this was it

"I wasn't a good person Jax. I hurt you. I betreayed you and I deserve to pay, and if that means never seeing you or our kids ever again then so be it" Harlow said

"I cant believe I am about to say this" Jax said pinching the bridge of his nose "Stay tonight, spend the morning with them and then you can leave"

Harlow hoped that maybe they could rekindle something or he could hear her apology and accept her for who she was
