Chapter Fifteen

Harlow's eyes shot open as her body flooded with pain, she wasnt sure where the pain was coming from but it hurt, lifting her head up she looked around and saw no one, looking for the call button she pressed it and waited for a nurse

"Mrs. Teller its so good to see you awake!" the nurse exclaimed turning the call button off

"Where is everyone?" Harlow asked looking around

"Everyone who sweetie?" the nurse asked

"My husband, my dad anyone i know" Harlow said

"Oh my goodness you have been out far too long to know anything" the nurse said

Harlow squinted at her name badge "Jessica where is my husband?"

"He is upstairs" Jessica said

"Doing what?" Harlow asked as Jessica adjusted her bed so she could sit up some more

"Let me call up there. I'll be right back" Jessica said

A few minutes later Gemma and Happy walked in Harlow instantly noticed that they were crying

"Where is Jax?" Harlow asked

"Baby i am so sorry" Gemma said

"Sorry for what? Gemma what is going on where is Jax?" Harlow asked begining to panic

"We have to make a choice, his body isn't responding to the medication he isn't doing good hes barely alive" Gemma cried

"Take me up there, I need to see him for myself" Harlow said trying to get out of bed

"Not so fast doll you cant go up there" Jessica said as she walked into the room stopping Harlow from getting out of the bed

"That is my husband up there and if you think I am just going to lay here and wait till someone tells me he died you are dead wrong lady. I need to see him" Harlow said as the tears streamed down her face

Jessica looked hard at Harlow, she knew she shouldnt allow her up there but she felt her pain

"I can get you up there for five minutes that is is and that is even pushing it I could lose my job" Jessica said

"Five minutes thats all i need" Harlow said as she wiped away her tears

After a long walk up to the floor above Harlow's Jessica brought her into Jax's room and helped her sit down in the chair.

Jax was hooked up to a few different monitors and she could hear the heart moinitor beep slowly. Harlow took his hand in hers and kissed it

"You cant leave me yet baby. Im not through with you" Harlow cried as she reached up and touched his face. It killed her that he wasn't moving

"Baby please wake up, I need you more then ever right now. I cant live without you Jax I cant" Harlow cried into Jax's limp hand "I wish this was me and not you, Jax I really do i wish I could fix you. Take all of your pain away. I cant do this without you baby please"

"Mrs. Teller its time to go" Jessica said placing a hand on Harlow's shoulder

"NO! Jax please dont make me say goodbye please. I can't tell the kids you are gone they will be devastated Jax please let me see those eyes again baby come on" Harlow cried

Jessica motioned to Happy who was standing in the doorway

Happy walked over and grabbed Harlow by the arm "Kid you gotta go"

Harlow stood up and looked at Happy "Dad do something! Please, I can't do this without him"

Happy's heart broke as his daughter broke down in his arms as he looked at a lifeless Jax. Happy didnt know what to do, the doctors had tried everything. They already did one kidney tranplast that took but it was his liver that was shutting down and without another liver the doctors put him on comfort measures.

Once Happy and Jessica were able to get Harlow back to her room she ended up being sedated Gemma sat by her side until Happy motioned for her to come out to the hall

"I gotta do something, I'm not sure if they are going to let me but I'm gonna do it" Happy said

"Hap, what are you doing?" Gemma asked

"I'm gonna see if I am a match" Happy said

"A match for what?" Gemma asked

"Jax, I'm gonna see if I am a match to donate a part of my liver" Happy said

Gemma looked at Happy "You would do that for my son?"

"Yes, but I'm also doing it for my daughter. I lived without the love of my life for a long time and I cant watch her go through life without Jax by her side. Because shes right she can't do this without him" Happy said

Gemma was shocked that Happy would do something like this, especially for Jackson. She knew they had thier times when they didn't get along or agree but she never thought in a million years that Happy would try to donate a part of his liver

Harlow sat in her bed as the tars wouldn't stop, no one had been in to see her and she had no idea of Jax's condition or if he was even alive at this point pressing the call button she waited

"Hey girlie you okay?" Jessica asked as she walked into the room

"Can you get me an update on Jax please?" Harlow begged

Jessica bit her lip she knew what was happening with Jax but she was asked to keep it a secret

"Yeah I'll be back in a bit let me go check on him" Jessica said as she backed out of the room

Harlow was getting aggarvated, her father nor Gemma were picking up the phone and Jessica hadnt been in to update her yet either and it had been nearly eight hours Harlow managed to get out of bed as Gemma walked into the room

"What are you doing up? Gemma asked

"Trying to get some info on my husband since everyone is ignoring me" Harlow said

"Ask him yourself" Gemma said as Jessica wheeled Jax into the room in a wheelchair

"How?" Harlow asked looking around he hands going to Jax's face

"He got a portion of someone's liver donated" Jessica smiled

"Whos?" Harlow asked

"Your father" Jax smiled
