Madeline's POV- December 2016
"Morning" I greeted.
The doorman offered me a smile as I stepped inside the apartment complex. I could feel my phone vibrating against my leg (the reason why no music was currently playing) as I made my way inside the elevator. My hands were occupied at the moment, so I couldn't answer the call. I quickly pressed the button to the floor where Auston lived in. Just as I made my way out of the elevator, I noticed two figures standing in front of Auston's apartment door.
"Good morning" I said as I tugged on an earphone.
That got their attention and I offered them a smile. The brunette looked at me a bit confused where as the blond smile. I looked away from them as the door opened. Auston let out a sigh of relief and shook his head when he saw me. He had changed out of his pjs, but he had yet to comb his hair...and probably brush his teeth.
"You didn't see the note" I stated.
"There was a note?"
I nodded.
"Bathroom mirror" I replied.
"Haven't gone in there"
"Well that's your fault then" I told him.
I looked at the blonde who laughed.
"Hi, I'm Madeline" I introduced myself.
He smiled as I handed Auston a cup of coffee.
"William"
I smiled and shook his hand. I turned to the brunette.
"You must be Mitch" I stated.
He smiled.
"Matts talks about me?"
"If Matts is Auston then yes. He mentioned you last night" I answered.
I shook his hand.
"Why are you two here?"
I laughed as I closed the door once they were inside.
"You're such a good friend Auston" I joked.
Auston smiled and rolled his eyes.
"They came unannounced"
I nodded and took a sip of my coffee.
"Nice to meet you two, I'm going to go change" I said.
"Change into something warm, just in case we don't have time to come back"
I handed Auston a bag and he raised an eyebrow as he took it. I smiled as he looked inside and nodded.
"Thank you, I'll pay you back"
I smiled and shook my head.
"I tutor for a reason, to be able to afford coffee Auston" I stated.
I stepped back and excused myself. The outfit I was currently wearing was not brunch worthy. The closest coffee shop was a 15 minute walk, so I decided to walk there. I was glad I brought my winter jacket because it was chilly. I grabbed my makeup bag and began applying products on my face. I put on my contact lenses and placed my glasses in my purse, just in case. I quickly changed into a pair of dark skinny jeans, a light pink long sleeved blouse, and a pair of boots. I adjusted my jacket and stuffed my beanie in my purse as I made my way out of the room.
"Ready" I called out.
"That was fast"
I stopped and looked at William.
